Good Morning Beautiful People…The Prayer Experience Day 3

Two days ago we started the prayer journey together. This is from my prayer experience, I began with Adoration and then I moved into the Thanksgiving station. Today we will travel on to the Penitence Station. We chose the order of how we traveled the stations and it was all based on the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13

Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come.  Thy will be done in earth,  As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation,  But deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom,  The power, and the glory,  Forever and ever.  Amen.

I picked up a paper that read Penitence. In penitence, we confess our sins and make restitution where possible, with the intention to amend our lives.

Forgive us our trespass as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Some of the questions we asked ourselves were these: What is holding you back? What patterns of thought or things you said or things you have done or left undone? Write them on a red heart. When you have prayed your prayer, tear it down the middle to show the rending of your heart before the Lord. We took the red heart home and a piece of sackcloth as a reminder.

Prayers of Penitence

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Most merciful God,

We confess that we have sinned against you

In thought, word, and deed, by what we have done.

We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.

We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name. Amen

Psalm 51

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightiest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

Now take a few minutes or however long you need to write or speak a prayer of forgiveness.

Here is my prayer for us today:

Father, may people all across this globe today come before you seeking forgiveness. It is there that it is granted. Help us all to pardon the ones that have hurt us in word or deed, because we have been forgiven much we are required to forgive much. It does not make us the weak one, or make them right, it makes us free. We desire to walk in the freedom you paid for.

Today, we stay a little longer in this station of forgiveness. As we journey life we all have made poor choices, bad decisions or said the wrong thing. (If you haven’t then you better check to see if you have a heart beat). Create in us a clean heart Oh God, we pray.

Thank you for being a forgiving God. We receive our forgiveness. Thank you for journeying with us every day. We want to know you deeper, in a more intimate way, thru forgiveness. Amen

Have A Blessed Day Beautiful People…You are forgiven according to the Word of the Lord.

So If the Son sets you free you are free indeed. John 8:36
