Have you ever been in a place where you wanted to feel God’s heartbeat? Jesus had a heart that always reached out to others. One of the greatest gift we can have is having a heart for others. Jesus is love and He requires the same thing from us.
John 13:34-35 A new command I give you Love one another. As I have loved you , so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
God wants our hearts to be united with him. We are to dwell in him and he in us. Jesus wants to fill our hearts with his entire being. His love, joy, peace, and he longs to have fellowship with us. Living in Christ is where we are transformed into a new person.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, the old has gone , the new has come.
Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things 3 For you died and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
Living in God’s heart is living in his love John 15:9-11 As the Father has loved me , so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you obey my commands you will remain in my love just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
All of God’s commands have to do with love, loving God and others. When we walk in God’s love
his joy will be manifested in our hearts.
1 John 5:2 This is how we know that we love the children of God, by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3 This is love for God, to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome.
Mark 12:30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength, 31 The second is this Love your neighbor as yourself, There is no commandment greater than these.
What does love do 1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrong 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 it always protects always trusts always hopes always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.
Forgive us Lord for lack of love .Help us to always remember that we are able to love only because you first loved us. Love leads to obedience we can love others as you have loved us. Thank you Lord that you have shown us how to love others by being an example. So as you live in us let us be an example to others by loving and reaching out to others . Amen
