Quntar assassination followed by exchange of fire on northern border

Quntar _Illustrative_Israel was giving an official “no comment” to reports that Samir Quntar, a Lebanese Druze who carried out a horrific attack in Israel in 1979 before being released in a prisoner exchange in 2008 and immediately joined the Shi’ite terror militia Hezbollah, had been killed in an airstrike Sunday morning. Three rockets were fired into northern Israel from southern Lebanon following the reports, prompting retaliatory strikes by Israali Defense Forces artillery units. Lebanese media reported that the rockets were not fired by Hezbollah but rather the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terror militia, but the IDF said is holds “the Lebanese army as responsible for activities in Lebanon and will continue to act against any attempt to harm Israeli sovereignty and the security of its citizens.” Read More >>
