Why do we find it so hard to pray? By Jeanne Theriault

Do you get bored or distracted while praying? Not sure if your prayers will make a difference? Or not sure how to pray? Then you need to grow in your prayer life by talking to God daily and having a relationship with him, God loves prayers that come from the heart.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your requests to God and the peace of God will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
1Thessalonians 5:16-18 Be joyful always 17 pray continually 18 give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Sometime you need to be still and listen to God’s voice.
Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God .
Other times we need to keep praying until we have the breakthrough.
Matthew 6:1 Be careful not to do your acts of righteousness before men to be seen by them, if you do you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
Matthew 6:6 But when you pray go into your room close the door and pray to your Father who is unseen. Then your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
Rewards come to those who pray with sincerity and from the heart.
Ephesians 3:12 In him and through faith in him we can approach God with freedom and confidence.
Matthew 6:7 And when you pray do not keep on babbling like the pagans for they think they will be heard because of there many words.
It doesn’t say don’t ask just don’t use vain repetitions. Its not how long you pray, but how much you believe when you pray.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you whatever you ask for in prayer believe that you have received it and it will be yours.
We are reminded of two types of prayer in 1Corinthians 14:15 So what shall I do? I will pray with my Spirit, but I will also pray with my mind. Both type of prayer are necessary as we walk with God. When we pray with our understanding it benefits our mind. When we pray in the spirit it builds us up in our inner man. It also means to pray for one another.
Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer being watchful and thankful.
Our part is to pray with a sincere heart and honesty, bringing our concerns to God. God’s part is to listen to our prayers and to graciously answer them in his time, in his own way according to his perfect will.
Isaiah 55:11 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways saith the Lord.
God will never let us down he is always true to his word. 1 Kings 8:56 There has not failed one word of all his good promises.
Thank you Lord that as we approach your throne with our prayers with a sincere heart and present our request to you with thanksgiving that you will honor our prayers and answer in your perfect timing. Help us to be still in times of waiting and to believe and trust in you .
