Good Morning Beautiful People…More Stars to Celebrate

Good Morning Beautiful People. On Saturday, I traveled north to Madawaska, Maine (the heart of the St. John Valley) to celebrate my youngest daughter’s twenty-sixth birthday. She inquired what time she was born and isn’t it funny how the details of giving birth comes rushing back to the forefront of your mind, so very quickly. It hardly seems like twenty- six years ago, I checked into the local hospital to be induced for her delivery. Time does truly fly by. I guess I must admit, I just cannot be 29 anymore.

Brooke now married and a mother herself is discovering the joy of motherhood. Children don’t come with instructions; it’s on the job training. I went to work full time when Brooke was one year old to meet the demands of a family of five. We shared special memories yesterday of camping trips, to surviving the family flu. We chuckled at the memory of all three of my daughters and me bedding down on the living room floor, waiting for the sickness to pass. Their dad would sit on the sideline, arms and legs crossed as he kept his eyes on the situation. He always thought someone would choke to their end. Isn’t it amazing what memories we have in the recesses of our minds? Being the youngest of three, her famous words were no fair.

Mr. Emmett, my third grandson, will grow up in a small town of less than 3,000 people per google. I love all the crosses I see and all the yellow stars around this town. Yellow stars on homes, churches and businesses alike. It represents the Acadian culture. The meaning of the cross will never change for me. It is the same yesterday, today and forever. I had my picture taken on a visit once, standing in front of the Acadian Historic Cross. Shh I never told my daughter. Oh, how I love the cross.

I was amazed at my grandson and the technology he has already learned on the family ipad. He knows how to play games, go to different apps, go back into programs of his choosing. Mr. Emmett turned one in March. How can that be? He knows how to find his way to his father’s favorite hockey team app (somehow, I think it might be his too- the Montreal Canadiens). I believe it is his paternal grandfather’s favorite team as well.

I couldn’t help on the way home thinking about the Kingdom of God and how it has no borders. On Saturday, I penned my prayer of the day and people across this globe prayed the Prayer of Jabez with me before leaving to celebrate with Brooke, Andrew and Mr. Emmett. Together, we asked God himself to enlarge our territories. I thought about the different cultures, different styles of worship, different ways we present the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Everyone has their own preference, their heritage, but the meaning of the cross is the very same. A man named Jesus, paid a dear price for us all, may we never forget it.

I chuckled myself at some of the memories as I prayed for all the stars in my family this morning. I may not be as techy as these young grandsons of mine, but I will always be quick to lead them to the cross app (Bible) for the answers in their lives.

I now have another memory to tuck away in the recess of my mind of yesterdays celebration. To everyone across this globe, remember you are loved and valued. You are a star in your Father’s eyes. No matter where you are around this world, if you are alive-you are a star. Pull it up on your Ipad today. Upload it, download it and most of all believe it. You are the apple of your Father’s (Jesus) eye.  (Zechariah 2:8-9)

Have A Blessed Day! You are a star…
