Iran's renegade nuclear program (Illustrative)US President Barak Obama gave an interview to theBBC Friday in which, among other things, he admitted that the lifting of sanctions on Iran will increase the Islamic Republic’s ability to finance terrorist organizations, although he countered that with an assertion that Iran’s terrorist clients would have gotten the money they need whether sanctions were maintained or not. “Iran has proved that it is willing to change its priorities and its strategy,” he insisted. “We have sent a clear message to the Iranians – though we closed the deal, we still have not closed account. I hope that solutions will be reached diplomatically, but if necessary, there is also a military option.” The interview came a day after his negotiating team was subjected to withering questions from several members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on the first day of congressional hearings regarding the recent agreement on Iran’s renegade nuclear program.
