On Provision

177 Genesis 22:14 And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide, as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided.”

The Father is amazing! He has thought of everything we could possibly need. From fruit bearing trees to the way we could be reunited with Him!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever (That’s you and me and those to follow.) believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

A lot of times we think of provision only in material terms. While the Father certainly does provide materially or monetarily, He also has provided all we need spiritually so that we can live as He made us to….alive in Him by His great power in us! We lack no good thing.

Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Colossians 2:9,10 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him who is the head of all principality and power.

You are complete in Him because He lives in you!

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.

We are accepted, redeemed, forgiven, and we have His authority and power! Read the rest of Ephesians as well as Matthew 10:1; Mark 3:15; Luke 9:1,2. These are not all inclusive. Please dig into your Bible to see more!

He gave you His Spirit to empower you and to help you!

Luke 24:49 “Behold, I send you the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Read Acts 2 to read the exciting story of the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the adventures that follow!

Acts 4:32-37 tells about the believers being of one heart and soul. They sold all they had and gave everything to the apostles to share so that no one lacked for anything.

Sometimes, He provides through us. There have been times the still, small voice has told me to bring milk to a family or money so they can buy food. Sometimes, He will have me call someone to offer encouragement or make them laugh, or write a card for someone to tell them I am thinking of them. The Lord knows our needs and if we are listening for Him, He will send you to be a blessing and an answer to prayer!

He hears our heart cries:

My Mom liked to give all her grandkids money for their birthdays. She would give them the amount of their age. She told me of a time that she had no money and little Anna’s 8th birthday was the next day. She was sitting on the porch crying when she heard the still, small voice, “Look in your pocket.” She did, and there was just enough money there! She told me, “I don’t know where that money came from Rae, because it wasn’t there before.” Praise God for His sweet, gentle and generous heart!

Sometimes the provision is fellowship:

My husband, Ron, all of a sudden got up and loaded his ladder in the car. He told me he was going to our son Luis’ house to clean out the gutters. Luis works long, hard hours and Ron wanted to bless him. When he got there, Luis was home! Luis needed time with his dad and there he was! Praise God for His kind and thoughtful heart!

Provision comes in an encouraging word from Holy Spirit….a remembrance of a scripture….a wonderful revelation, and just a sweet, sweet knowing that He is there and He loves you.

Every day our Holy Father provides for our every need. I want to encourage you to ask Him to show you His provision and to encourage you to be a part of someone else’s provision.

Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Amen!
