Iran's renegade nuclear program (Illustrative)Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was scheduled to hold an emergency cabinet meeting on Friday morning following a brief phone call with US President Barak Obama to discuss the announcement Thursday evening of what Obama called a “historic” deal reached in Switzerland over Iran’s renegade nuclear program. Netanyahu reportedly told Obama that “A deal based on this framework would threaten the survival of Israel. Just two days ago, Iran said that ‘The destruction of Israel is non-negotiable,’ and in these fateful days Iran is accelerating the arming of its terror proxies to attack Israel.” Some analysts called the framework agreement announced by the P5+1 powers (US, UK, France, Russia, China and Germany) Thursday evening an outright capitulation to Iran while others conceded that, while depending on a large number of unknowable variables, it was probably the best deal anyone could have hoped for.
