Maj.-Gen. Majid Faraj, head of the Palestinian Authority’s General Intelligence Service, took the stand Monday in a New York City courtroom to testify in a lawsuit filed by American citizens who have lost loved ones to terrorism in Israel over the last several years. Gen. Faraj told the jury that the role he and his US and British trained security services played in the Second Intifada included “promoting stability and combating violence and terrorism.” The testimony contradicted the claims of the plaintiffs, represented by Shurat Hadin – Israel Law Center and Kent Yalowitz of Arnold & Porter, that PA security personnel were among those who planned and executed terrorist attacks against Israelis and American citizens in Israel during the 2001-2004 period.
