Israel Responds to Threats on Northern Border

The drill is necessary, commanders said, because of the growing threat against the Jewish State from spillover from the multi-faceted civil war raging in Syria and the resulting chaos in neighboring Lebanon. “The goal is to prepare for a transition from one front to another, and from routine to emergency,” a senior source in the 7th Armored Brigade said. “We are not afraid of a storm. In fact the opposite is true, we are quite prepared, and it is important to drill the fighters in stormy weather as well. Hezbollah is the threat that we are drilling for. The dense and complicated Lebanese arena is full of challenges.” Meanwhile, the battle in southern Syria raged on Thursday as the Islamic State (IS) terror militia was reported to be planning attacks in Turkey and Europe.
