Dear family of our Lord Jesus Christ and faithful Daily Cup readers,

Shonda SavageHappy New Yearl! Thank you for joining us here on the “Cup.” I’m Shonda Savage an inspirational writer at FGGAM.org and I’m filling in for Dewey today.

Pastor Dewey and Sharon celebrate their wedding anniversary on Saturday, We praise God for this marriage!  Please keep them in your prayers. Buffy, their oldest Dog who has made many ministry visits with Dewey has been having a rough time of late. Please keep all these matters in your prayers, Dewey, Sharon Buffy and Reno their ministry dogs and the entire family and ministry.
We also want to inform you that the data base for the Daily CUP imploded over Christmas. Jannetta is working hard to fix it, but some names have been lost in this situation. Please be advised that the CUP and also bonus CUP’s are always posted at FGGAM.ORG   www.fggam.org ;

We thank God for what HE is doing and working through this ministry and we thank you, our faithful readers and supporters of the ministry for taking part of what God is doing here at FGGAM.

Can you believe it is already 2015? I was always told that time flies by faster the older we get. This past week I took some time to reflect about where we have been this past year and what the Lord has done for us, and I couldn’t help but to break out with thanksgiving.

Has everything been easy peasy for us? Of course not! But if it had not been for God, oh I don’t even want to imagine what our circumstances would look like!

As we enter into 2015, let’s thank God for the things we do have. No matter how little or insignificant it seems, give thanks for it.

“Then Jesus directed them to have all the people sit down in groups on the green grass. So they sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand.” (Mark 6:39-44 NIV)

We may be weary and worn out like Jesus and the disciples that day on the hill when they had nothing to feed the crowd. Our circumstances may seem like we don’t have much just as when the disciples took inventory of what they had and learned it was only five loaves and two fish. We may feel like we’re in a remote location and there’s nowhere to turn for help, but Jesus is there ready to receive our thank offering.

Yesterday my friend Dr. Michelle Bengtson posted this picture on Facebook…

Thankful Socks

I love it! I want socks like that! Wearing these kinds of socks around will remind us to give thanks. To remember to give thanks, I post Scriptures of thanksgiving around my house. How about you, do you have  a way to remind yourself to give thanks?

It’s easy to murmur and complain about things. But we must intentionally choose to give thanks. Will you join me in giving thanks to our Lord everyday this year?

My friends, remember that when we give thanks for what we do have, we give God the opportunity to bless it and multiply it. Let’s begin 2015 with thanks and see how our Lord multiplies His blessings in our lives as we do.
