CHOOSE YOU THIS DAY WHO YOU WILL SERVE – make an informed choice!

Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants.

GOD WILL GUIDE YOU – map/game plan provided; consequences & rewards.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

CONSEQUENCES OF NOT FOLLOWING GOD’S GUIDANCE – choose wisely!

Psalm 127:1 Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.

Matthew 7:26-27 Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against the house; and it fell – and great was its fall.

GOD REWARDS THOSE WHO FOLLOW HIM.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

ALL WILL FACE PERSONAL JUDGMENT – no choice is still a choice.

Psalm 9:7 But the Lord abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment.

Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.

Matthew 12:36 But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment.

YET WE STILL CHOOSE UNWISELY – our sin nature.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

EVEN THOUGH WE KNOW THE CONSEQUENCES – our sin nature.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

GOD PROVIDES A SOLUTION – Jesus!

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

HOW DO I RECEIVE GOD’S GIFT?

Romans 10:9-10 If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

GOOD NEWS!

Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far as He removed our transgressions from us.

Acts 3:19 Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.

Jesus – accept gift by faith

repentance – confess sins

refreshing – presence of the Lord

HOW OFTEN CAN I REPENT? – is there an expiration date?

1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Lamentations 3:22-23 The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail, they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Psalm 86:5 For You, O Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon You.

NOW LET’S LOOK AT MOSES…

ME? – Yes! God knows you.

Exodus 3:11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?”

Exodus 4:1 Then Moses said, “What if they will not believe me or listen to what I say? For they may ay, “The Lord has not appeared to you.”

Exodus 4:10 Then Moses said to the Lord, “Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither recently or in times past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”

GOD WILL LEAD YOU – by His Holy Spirit.

Exodus 3:17-18 Now when Pharaoh had let the people go, God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Phillistines, even though it was near; for God said, “The people might change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt.” Hence God led the people around by the way of the wilderness to the Red Sea; and the sons of Israel went up in martial array from the land of Egypt.

Exodus 13:21 The Lord was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night.

NOT ALWAYS EASY – Jesus was misunderstood, questioned, hated, too.

Exodus 16:3 The sons of Israel said to them, “would that we had died by the Lord’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread to the full; for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”

Exodus 17:2-3 Therefore the people quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water that we may drink.” And Moses said to them, “why do you quarrel with Me? Why do you test the Lord?” But the people thirsted there for water; and they grumbled against Moses and said, “Why, now, have you brought us up from Egypt, to kill us and our children and livestock with thirst?”

GOD WILL PROVIDE – the Lord provides every need according to His riches.

Exodus 15:25 Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree; and Moses threw it into the waters, and the waters became sweet.

Exodus 16:4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in my instruction.”

INTERCEDE! – the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Exodus 32:11-14 Then Moses entreated the Lord his God, and said, “O Lord, why does Your anger burn against Your people whom You have brought out from the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? Why should the Egyptians speak, saying, ‘with evil intent He brought them out to kill them in the mountains and to destroy the from the face of the earth?’ Turn from Your burning anger and change Your mind about doing harm to Your people. Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants to whom You swore by Yourself, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heavens, and all this land of which I have spoken I will give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.’” So the Lord changed His mind about the harm which He said He would do to His people.

MOSES was used by God to change the entire course of Jewish history by delivering the Israelites from the Egyptians. Moses watched God part the Red Sea, received the 10 commandments, and was directly responsible for the teaching of God and all His ways to the younger generation of Israelites who eventually would be the ones to enter the Promised Land. Moses changed God’s mind through intercessory prayer (praying for others) by reminding God of His Word. Moses was 80 years old when God chose him to deliver the Israelites out of bondage from Egypt. Everything Moses experienced in the Lord all occurred in the last 40 years of his life. It is never too late to turn your life over to God and enter into His perfect will and plan for your life.

Do not call to mind the former things,

or ponder the things of the past.

Behold, I will do something new,

Now it will spring forth;

will you not be aware of it?

I will even make a roadway in the wilderness,

rivers in the desert.

Isaiah 43:18-19
