My DadDear friends in our Lord Jesus Christ,

The Lord has moved me to write to you on this Saturday……I am preparing my message for Resurrection Sunday at the Baptist Church in Reserve, NM. Please keep me in your prayers…..We are so thankful for your love!

It is such a blessing to be able to share with you here at the CUP! I do not take this for granted that I can be here each day! I told Buffy when we awoke today, another day to serve the Lord.

22 years ago on this date, April 19th, 1992, Easter morning at 3am my Dad, Wally Moede died suddenly of a heart attack. Oh my, I miss him dearly…..he is my hero, he taught me so much about life, my passion to help others and serve our Lord comes from Dad. I will never forget that call early that morning from my brother Daryl telling me Dad had died.  Dad was 64 and had just filed his retirement papers. He was the head usher at Church forever, Assistant Fire Chief, and Transportation Director for the School District in our town of Windom, Minnesota. He served our Country in WWII as a SGT. in the U.S. Marines, serving in China, Pearl Harbor and Japan. But more importantly he was a Godly man, who served God, a Godly husband and Dad. Back home they used to call me Dad’s “shadow” .Where Wally was, Dwayne (Dewey) was……..I learned so much from my Dad, passion to do things right, to do them Godly…..a Godly work ethic. To serve and not to be served, Dad grew up in a family of 13 in the depression, his Dad died when my Dad was just 13. How did my Dad become such a wonderful Godly man, Husband and Father? He knows Jesus Christ and he is with Him today and all days. AMEN! PRAISE GOD!

The day of Dad’s funeral, school was dismissed early, flag’s were at half-staff, most of the town gathered at the Church on the hill for Dad’s funeral. Well done good and faithful servant. Thank You Lord, for my daddy and what he taught me, I try to apply it everyday.

I pray that the picture I posted of me and my Dad shows up in this email to you! If not remember you can always view all of the CUPS, at FGGAM.ORG www.fggam.org

I wanted to share with you this outstanding message about the day before Easter………Saturday before Easter  is forgotten about by many…….

Different Than It Appeared

Read | Matthew 16:21

In the Story of Easter, Saturday normally gets lost.

The days (and even the few years) preceding it, however, were filled with amazing events and words. If it were a symphony, it would have all risen to a resounding yet horrific crescendo: the arrest and trial, the scourging and crucifixion, the agony on the cross, the death, the day turning to utter darkness, the ground shaking as if to split the earth, the veil tearing in two . . .

And then, just like the famous pause in Handel’s Messiah, it all comes to a screeching halt. Jesus is buried—and it is all over.

With Jesus gone, the disciples were left with nothing but the memories and His words, neither of which seemed to be affecting them, for they huddled in fear on Saturday, having little faith in what He had promised. The disciples had painted their own picture of who Messiah was supposed to be—a narrative they wanted Him to fulfill.

How many of us believers live with a Saturday mindset—somewhere between the truth of Jesus’ earthly life and the glorious resurrection that validated everything He said and did? It is easy to look at the disciples’ fear and lack of faith on that day and shake our heads. But are we so different, really? Do we have our own plans for God? Do you and I conveniently believe that the best thing for us is that God and everyone else follow our script for the day? Do we get angry when it doesn’t happen?

Do you find yourself speaking words that increasingly convey a lack of hope? Are they words of discouragement, gloom, doom—maybe even despair?

Two choices lie before those of us who live with such a mentality. Either we make the frustrating and futile attempt to get our own way, or we turn and revisit the truth of what God has told us: the truth about Himself and the truth about ourselves; the truth about what He has asked us to do in the disappointment of “Saturday.”

The disciples had not yet received the Holy Spirit. We now have Him in full. They did not have the fullness of God’s Word. We have all of it at ready access. They were living on the other side of the resurrection. We live in its reality.

Because the Truth, dear friends, is that the music will resume. Sunday’s coming! What an awesome Saturday we have been given!

Happy Easter

We have so many wonderful postings for this time of year…..please visit us at FGGAM.ORG   www.fggam.org

We are here to serve our Lord and you!

From Billy Graham for Saturday…………

Read 1 Cor. 15: 50-54………

From Genesis to Revelation, we are warned
that “it is later than you think.” Paul writes
to Christians in Romans 13:11–12: “The hour
has already come for you to wake up from your
slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than
when we first believed. The night is nearly over;
the day is almost here. So let us put aside the
deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.”
There are millions of people around the
world who do not have peace at this moment
because they have never found the secret of
peace. Some of them may have riches today
as a result of greed and covetousness; but their
souls are lean, their hearts are cold toward
God, their consciences are dulled, and their
minds are blinded. They need to know that
there is a God of marvelous love who sent
His Son Jesus Christ to this world. And as a
demonstration of His mercy, Christ—who
is the Prince of Peace—went to the cross
to make a way for peace between God
and mankind.
Are you living in the reality of Jesus’ victory over
death? In what tangible ways can you share that
victory with others so that they, too, can have life?

For Resurrection Sunday:

Easter is a season of great gladness for those
who know Christ. But for those who are
without “the light of the knowledge of God’s glory”
(2 Corinthians 4:6), there is nothing to rejoice over.
Jesus left us with the great hope and certainty
that He is going to return to bring a new Heaven
and a new earth where, we are told, there will
be no more sorrow, trouble, or death for those
who have believed and followed Him. There will
be trouble, sorrow, and suffering for those who
have neglected or rejected Him. As Christians,
our great task is to obey the command to tell the
whole world about Christ crucified, buried, yet
risen again. My prayer for you during this season
of the year, when we meditate on our Savior’s
great sacrifice for us on the cross, is that you will
be filled with great peace and hope, because
“He is risen!” That is the Good News.

Resurrection Sunday
As you follow Christ, are you obeying His command
to tell others that He is risen indeed?

Our Dear Friend, Darlene Quiring sen this into us……….

Jesus’ Death – 60 seconds to understand 60 seconds with God…

For the next 60 seconds,
set aside whatever you’re doing and take this opportunity!
Let’s see if Satan can stop this.

THE (SCIENTIFIC) DEATH OF JESUS
At the age of 33, Jesus was condemned to the death penalty.

At the time crucifixion was the “worst” death. Only the worst criminals were condemned to be crucified. Jesus was to be nailed to the cross by His hands and feet.

Each nail was 6 to 8 inches long.

The nails were driven into His wrist.
Not into His palms as is commonly portrayed.
There’s a tendon in the wrist that extends to the shoulder.
The Roman guards knew that when the nails were being hammered into the wrist, that tendon would tear and break, forcing Jesus to use His back muscles to support himself so that He could breathe.

Both of His feet were nailed together. Thus He was forced to support Himself on the single nail that impaled His feet to the cross. Jesus could not support himself with His legs
because of the pain, so He was forced to alternate between arching His back then using his legs just to continue to breathe. Imagine the struggle, the pain, the suffering, the courage.

Jesus endured this reality for over 3 hours.

Yes, over 3 hours!
Can you imagine this kind of suffering? A few minutes before He died, Jesus stopped bleeding. He was simply pouring water from his wounds.

From common images, we see wounds to His hands and feet and even the spear wound to His side… But do we realize His wounds were actually made in his body. A hammer driving large nails through the wrist,
the feet overlapped and an even large nail hammered through the arches, then a Roman guard piercing His side with a spear.
But before the nails and the spear, Jesus was whipped and beaten. The whipping was so severe that it tore the flesh from His body. The beating so horrific that His face was torn
and his beard ripped from His face. The crown of thorns cut deeply into His scalp. Most men would not have survived this torture.

He had no more blood to bleed out, only water poured from His wounds. The human adult body contains about 3.5 liters
(just less than a gallon) of blood.

Jesus poured all 3.5 liters of his blood; He had three nails hammered into His members;
a crown of thorns on His headand, beyond that,
a Roman soldier who stabbed a spear into His chest.

All these without mentioning the humiliation He passed after carrying His own cross for almost 2 kilometers, while the crowd spat in his face and threw stones (the cross was almost 30 kg of weight, only for its higher part, where His hands were nailed).

Jesus had to endure this experience, so that we can have free access to God.

So that our sins could be “washed” away. All of them, with no exception!

JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR US!

He died for us! It is easy to pass jokes and false witness statements by e-mail, but when it comes to God, sometimes we feel ashamed to forward to others because we are worried of what they may think about us.

60 seconds with God…

For the next 60 seconds, set aside what you’re doing
and take this opportunity!
Let’s see if Satan can stop this.

All you have to do is:

1. Simply pray for the person who sent this message to you:

2. Then, send this message to 10 people… More if you wish.

3. 10 people will pray for you and you will make that many people pray to God for other people.

4. Take a moment to appreciate the power of God in your life, for doing what pleases Him.

If you are not ashamed to do this, please, follow Jesus’ instructions He said (Matthew 10:32 & 33): “Everyone therefore who acknowledges me before others, I also will acknowledge before My Father in heaven;
but whosoever denies Me before others, I also will deny before My Father in heaven.”

If you believe, send this message… But send it only if you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Yes, I love God. He is my source of life and my Savior. He keeps me alive day and night.

Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13.

Send this to all those you love.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”..

A friend is someone who knows the song in your
heart and sings it to you when you’ve forgotten the words!

Thank you so much for sharing Darlene.

We are all praying for you here at FGGAM! We pray over our mailing list and over the FGGAM.ORG website, over every visitor.

For God’s Glory Alone in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ, Dewey, Sharon, Family and FGGAM Team.

Let us keep praying for each other and our families.

We pray that you and yours will become closer to Jesus Christ this Easter.

I do not know If I will post on Resurrection Sunday, I will be up at 3am to prepare to drive to Reserve…..let us see what the Lord has in store for us!
