Dear Family of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Thank you for stopping by this day for a CUP!

I am so sorry there was no CUP yesterday, but I was Birga’s co-host Monday morning on KDAZ AM730 and then did our radio program ‘The World We Live In’ at noon and had much ministry work yesterday, so God said no CUP for Monday! It was a very blessed time on air with Birga, she is a God send to New Mexico. Thanks to you all who tuned in! Sahron had the day off yesterday and she was so funny! She texted me during the radio show and shared her thoughts with me, some of which I shared on KDAZ, I think Sharon should have been on the show!

Sharon said this: Our trials are meant for learning and growing. And keeping love in our hearts and soul.

Also this: Core values have shifted in our society. We have lost our ties to our soul. The innocence and pure light we were born with.

One more from my Angel: Internalizing fear and forgetting love creates snarkiness and bad behavior.

Quotes from Sharon Moede

Sunday I had the blessing of preaching at Crestview Baptistin Albuquerque.  Filling in for my Dear, Dear friend Pastor Steve Freeman, you can hear the sermon here:

That One Thing – Sermon Podcast by Pastor Dewey Moede

NOW I NEED TO SHARE WITH YOU WE HAVE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE SERVICE WE HAVE BEEN USING TO STORE OUR AUDIO AND LAST NIGHT THIS SERMON FILE WOULD PLAY AT TIMES AND THEN IT WOULD NOT. ISAAC IS WORKING ON IT TODAY SO IF YOU DO HAVE A PROBLEM CHECK BACK LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND LORD WILLING WE WILL HAVE IT CORRECTED. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. WE WILL BE UPGRADING OUR SERVICE AS ISAAC BELIEVES HE HAS FOUND US A BETTER PROVIDER. PLEASE KEEP US IN PRAYER AS WE ARE ALWAYS STRIVING TO IMPROVE OUR SERVICE TO YOU!

One thing that I have found over the years whenever I preach on something, I then get challenged by what I just preached! I was telling this to my brother Daryl this morning and he called it Spiritual Warfare!

Since Sunday’s message I have been under extreme attack, please pray for us.

Spiritual Warfare, and being challenged after I preach, it’s very strong warfare, I told Daryl it’s like you are being pulled under water. I believe when we have a deep conviction for what we believe and share with the world, we will be attacked as satan attempts to pull us under. That is why we must pray for each other, during this Spiritual Warfare.

I pray that you will slow down and take the time to listen to my sermon, titled, ‘That One Thing’

In my message on Sunday I also included the following by A.W. Tozer just an excellent message, one of the best ever, it really Preaches! Tozer lived from 1897 to 1963, what an awesome Pastor, writer and mentor he was!

How to Keep from Having a Nervous Breakdown:

I have noticed in recent years that all of the Lord’s people—–not just ministers and missionaries—-tend more and more to become a nervous and harried people.

Paul wrote to the Philippians and said, “Be anxious for nothing—-peace of God can keep your hearts and minds.”

I don’t claim to know everything about it. I only claim  that there is hope and relief for the children of God in these terrible days.

It is natural that people will have fears and concerns about their families, about their safety and about their health. God has said that we don’t know what will be on the morrow.

Mostly these fears are driven inward and underground into what they call the subconscious—–that which worries underneath. It’s the thing you dream with, and the thing you worry with when you don’t know you are worrying.

The result of that is, of course, that it weakens, panics us, makes us nervous and inclines to steal away our joy.

Well, what are we going to do about it? Are we going to listen to the ‘don’t worry’ cult that says there’s nothing in the wide world for you to be afraid of?

Now, I know better than that, I’m not going to rest my nerves at the expense of my head—-that is, I’m not going to commit intellectual suicide and listen to some tabby cat telling me there isn’t anything to be afraid of in the world.

How are we going to escape fear, when there are legitimate dangers that lie all around us?

Well, here’s what the man of God says: “Don’t be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God and the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Someone is looking after us. The Bible says “He careth for you.” Jesus, our Lord, says: “Your Father knows what you have need of before you ask Him.” And Jesus said,, “Let not your heart be troubled.” And in all your afflictions, He was afflicted, it says.

The Bible pictures God as a very careful, tender-hearted Father, busying Himself about the troubles of His people. He looks after them, goes ahead of them, cares for them, and guides them all the way through.

There you see the problem of worry and anxiety is solved by the assurance that while there are things about which to be concerned, why should you worry, when Somebody is taking care of you!

But, now, I just want to ask whether you are willing to let God take over? If you listen, and just feel a little bit encouraged, then you might as well have gone to a psychiatrist. They encourage you and stroke your back and make you purr a little and charge you $25.00. (You can see by that, how long ago Tozer wrote this!)

But, listen, and remember that peace of heart does not come from denying that there is trouble, but comes from rolling your trouble on God. By faith you have the right to call on One who is your brother, the Son of Man who was also the Son of God. And if He’s going to look after you, why should you worry at all!

I pray that this message really preaches to you! I pray that you listen to my sermon, it really is not mine, it’s God’s, because He gave me the words to say.

  1. Thank you Dewey for sharing this…I get it now. I concluded writing and teaching a 5-week Bible study on prayer last Tues. And yes, just like you said, I am having to put into practice the very Word of God that I taught. Live it out. Well, I have been struggling since the conclusion of the study. By this message in the Cup today, I see now it is spiritual warfare. I’ve been engaging by dressing in the armor, holding up my shield of faith and wielding the sword which is confessing God’s word. But I have just been doing what I felt needed to be done, not fully identifying what was happening. Thank you. The enemy is under our feet! Praying for you.

Also, please keep my mother Shirley Adams in prayer…she is seeing a surgeon today in regard to thyroid issues and the removal of her thyroid via surgery. Thank you.
