Israel On High Alert Along Northern Borders

IDF soldiers in action (IDF Spokespersons's Office photograph)The IDF Northern Command took the unusual step of ordering farmers near the borders with Lebanon and Syria to stay out of those fields. “Yesterday we received notice from the army not to approach our orchards along the border area, and not to work them,” said farmer Yossi Levit. “Our army, at the moment, because of all sorts of intelligence notices, won’t allow us to get any closer, and we unfortunately have to follow orders.” The orders were taken against a backdrop of increased tensions following a statement by the Lebanese Shi’ite terror militia Hezbollah declaring its intention to retaliate for an alleged Israeli air strike on a convoy from Syria believed to have been carrying advanced missiles to Hezbollah. Read More
