Jerusalemites Celebrate Thanksgivuka!

Fans packed into Kraft Stadium in downtown Jerusalem Thursday evening to watch the 6th annual Hanukkah Bowl football game between the Jerusalem Kings and the Judean Rebels, capping a day of celebrations for Thanksgivuka (the once in a lifetime overlap of the US holiday of Thanksgiving and the first day of Hanukkah) after an afternoon of holiday feasting on the traditional holiday treats of sufganiyot (jelly filled doughnuts) as well as Turkey and cranberry sauce. Meanwhile, American born MK Dov Lipman hosted a holiday dinner for IDF soldiers whose families are not in the country, saying “I’m inspired looking around this table and seeing young people who made a heroic and courageous decision, I hope you recognize how much Israel embraces you.”. Read More
