Inside the Iran Talks
P5+1 nuclear talks with Iran (Illustrative)High-level talks are scheduled to resume in Geneva next week on Iran’s renegade nuclear program. The world’s major powers will be trying once again to convince Tehran to stop enriching uranium for its suspected nuclear weapons program. The negotiations will reconvene just as a leading security think-tank in London has warned that Iran now has the ‘breakout’ capability to build an atomic warhead within one month’s time. Now the Iranians have entered these talks with the primary goal of getting international sanctions lifted off their country, since they are starting to really take a bite out of the Iranian economy. In response, the Obama administration has made overtures to Tehran that signal a readiness to compromise. But this apparent softening by the Obama White House has disturbed a number of US allies in the Middle East, including Israel and Saudi Arabia, not to mention the backlash it has created in Congress. So just how close is Iran to being able to develop nuclear weapons? Will the US stand strong in the negotiations in Geneva? Or is the Obama administration seeking a compromise deal that would allow Tehran to continue enriching uranium? And why has it been so hard for many world leaders to see the truth about Iran’s nuclear program?  Inside the Iran Talks – That’s our focus this week here on Front Page Jerusalem. We’ll have an update and analysis on the Geneva talks featuring one of Israel’s leading experts on nuclear proliferation issues, Dr. Oded Brosh of the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya. He has served as a senior adviser on Iran to the Prime Minister’s Office and we’ll have his keen insights into what is going on behind-the-scenes in the negotiations in Geneva.
