Appointed Times of the Lord dailyHave you ever wanted to meet the Lord and have Him show up? What if you knew a time, set by God, to meet with Him, would you show up? Would you leave our Lord waiting because you didn’t have the time or would you clear your schedule?

Next Tuesday, October 15th starting at 7pm at the Church of God in Santa Fe, NM located at 8 Reata Rd.

I will be speaking on the Appointed Times of the Lord. I believe the scripture clearly teaches that the Lord has created times when He will meet with us. These meeting times for the devout follower of the Jesus have prophetic implications.

For instance, there are daily set times of prayer that reflect the times of the daily sacrifice when the temple stood in Jerusalem. For most Christians today, we claim that we are no longer under the law and that we no longer need to observe these obsolete times of prayer. But did you know that on the day that Jesus was crucified significant things occurred at exactly those prayer times?

He was hung upon the cross at about 9am the time of the morning sacrifice. Darkness fell at noonday at the time of the midday prayer. And our Lord gave up His soul as the afternoon sacrifice was being made.

You might argue that this is as the Lord hung on the cross and that afterwards we are no longer bound to set prayer times. I can understand this line of reasoning as it has been taught for so long. But consider another event that occurred after the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior.

In the book of Acts in chapter 2 we have the very familiar story of Pentecost. On Tuesday, I will show the importance of the annual appointed times of the Lord and how a Pentecost that happened almost two thousand years before was connected to Act 2.

Did you know that we know the time the Holy Spirit fell upon God’s people in Act 2? We are told by Peter that it happened at about nine in the morning on Pentecost. The hour of the morning prayer! By the way, there is a reason that 3,000 people were available to hear the gospel preached by the apostles. It is because of obedience to the Lord’s appointed times. If there are daily times to meet with the Lord, what about the weekly, monthly and yearly appointed times?

That is what I will be sharing on Tuesday October 15 at 7pm till 9pm. Hope to see you there.
