Arlington, VA—The ‘Defend Freedom’ Veterans’ Bus Tour launched in early October. For three weeks, and across a dozen states from Nevada to the east coast, we’ll be providing a platform for U.S. military veterans, their friends and families, and all patriotic Americans to tell their stories, and explore ways to continue fighting for freedom here at home. This tour includes dozens of stops in Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia and North Carolina.

The tour, sponsored by Concerned Veterans for America (CVA)—a national, non-profit organization of veterans, military family members, and patriotic Americans—will take messages of service, freedom and the American dream from coast to coast.  A high-profile list of decorated veterans have joined the tour; read more about tour participants, and the tour, at www.DefendFreedomTour.com.

Issues to be discussed include the following:

  • Preserving our promises to veterans by reforming the Department of VeteransAffairs, especially the 500,000 “backlog” of veterans’ benefit claims.
  • Reforming Pentagon spending, to ensure we maintain the strongest military in the world and America takes care of troops.
  • Tackling our nation’s $17 trillion debt, which is both an economic and security threat.
  • Getting veterans involved so they can continue to serve America here at home.

“Unfortunately, our great nation is failing to live up to its potential, and in particular, failing in its commitment to our veterans,” said Pete Hegseth, CEO of CVA. “That’s why we’re taking our messages to the people, to help build our activist base so that veterans, their families and friends will join us to promote the values that will keep this nation strong, fiscally sound, proud and responsible,”

“Our veterans deserve better,” Hegseth added.  “We’re tired of the rhetoric and we want results.”
