horseDEVELOPER MOLDENHAUER GOES TO SUPREME COURT TO TRY TO REGAIN RACETRACK LICENSE

Michael Moldenhauer, the Canadian developer who obtained and then lost the sixth racetrack license for a racino in Raton, New Mexico, has joined the fray with four other investment groups looking to get the sixth elilgible track license from the New Mexico Racing Commission.

Moldenhauer’s attorney filed a writ with the New Mexico Supreme Court on Monday, April 22, hoping to get the commision decision revoked, in which case he could get another shot at building a racino in Raton.  The writ will likely put the whole licensing process on hold until the supreme court takes action.

The Raton Range article on the court filing gives a lot of useful information.  More good reasons for the racing commission to hold off on issuing the sixth license can be found in the last posting on April 20, 2013.
