Israel and US jointly train to fight Islamic State

IDF special forces units and their counterparts from the US Marines carried out joint training exercises in the Negev Desert recently as part of an effort to share knowledge and experience for the benefit of both militaries in the battle against the Islamic State (IS) terror militia and similar groups. The IDF Spec Ops units, from the Air Force, Navy and Ground forces, reportedly passed on lessons they’d learned the hard way by fighting in Gaza, Lebanon and elsewhere.

Egypt and Israel Increasing Cooperation

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attended Egypt’s Revolution Day ceremony at the home of Ambassador Hazem Khairat on Thursday, commemorating the 1952 military coup which overthrew King Farouk and launched the modern Egyptian state. During his remarks he praised the growing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the joint battle against Islamist terrorism.

German University Blasted for Anti-Israel Blood Libel

Israel’s Foreign Ministry issued a harsh statement Thursday in reaction to reports that the HAWK University of Applied Sciences and Arts in the city of Hildesheim in the German state of Lower Saxony recently included an accusation that Israel harvests the organs of Palestinians in order to sell them on the international black market. “This is an ugly and outrageous demonstration of Jew hatred,” an FM spokesperson told the Jerusalem Post. “This is not a university – it is a hatred factory.”

Anti-Israel Petition Submitted to FIFA

FIFA, the international body which regulates football (soccer) competition, is once again being used as an arena to attack Israel, this time through the submission of a petition demanding that FIFA require the Israel Football Association (IFA) to ban six teams based in West Bank communities from competition. IFA spokesman Shlomi Barzel said he wasn’t very concerned about the petition, being compiled by the website avaaz.org, because “FIFA is a sports organization and does not want to be politicized”.

Terror Militia in Syria Breaks With Al-Qaeda

The leader of the Al Nusra Front terror militia fighting in Syria said in an Al Jazeera interview broadcast Thursday that the group is changing its name and breaking away from the Al Qaeda terrorist network. Abu Mohamad Al Jolani explained that his terror militia would now like to be referred to as Jabhat Fateh Al Sham (Conquest of Syria in Arabic) and “will have no links whatsoever with foreign parties”.
