Joy! A Gift That Cannot Be Bought…

Good morning beautiful people, good morning. This morning I sit quietly at my dining room table to reflect on the last few days. My three grandsons and I spread some Christmas joy at a local shopping place. There are some things you cannot buy, and joy is just that. We prayed and asked the Holy Spirit to lead us to the people we needed to speak with. I must admit sometimes these three grandsons think their gram is a little different.

We visited a local shopping place and gave out Christmas cards with a gift card and the message of the greatest gift, Jesus. We asked each person if there was something we could pray for them. One young child will celebrate Christmas without their mother, as she has passed to eternal life. One elderly woman, with tears filling her eyes, thanked us and said please pray for our world, we need peace. The folks we met had diverse needs and only God himself could bring the answer. We joined faith and petitioned God for their need.

I asked the boys to listen for the tug in their heart and let me know if they felt something.  Most times I felt the tug and I would ask if they were in agreement. Then we would set out to speak to the person. Every person was touched in their heart, and we were blessed as well.

This morning I pray they remember this for years to come. It is better to give than to receive. That people are important to God. The greatest gift ever, gave us forgiveness of sins, eternal life, hope and a future. Joy in the heart cannot be bought but can be spread.

Let’s Pray:

Father may the joy of Christmas spread like wildfire. May the answers to the many prayers we have prayed, be received. May every hurting heart, heal and may the light in people’s eyes shine again as you bring hope and love to a world in need of a Savior.

Father, your Word tells us that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. (Psalm 30:5) May hearts all across this globe be revived today, because joy has come to them from above. Amen.

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Romans 12:12
