Your Morning Appointment To The River…
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. I woke up at exactly 3:33 AM laughing at myself, this morning. I was sharing with a colleague recently about a childhood memory. Swimming lessons at the outdoor pool was a summer highlight here in the Star City. We would walk or ride our bike to the outdoor pool and have our swimming lesson and find our way back home again. The first part of the lesson was always great for me. When it came time to go to the deep side of the pool, I would become scared. When it was time to dive, I always had an appointment and had to leave. Needless to say, I never learned to dive until much later in life.
Somehow, I sense the stirring once again to go to the deep side, to deeper waters. How about you? Have you ever been too scared to take the dive? I remember one time at the indoor pool, I did just that, I took the dive. Well, the results were… I did it! Guess what? I am still here. The rest of the story, I am just not ready to share.
Ready to dive deep today? Let’s go to the river, the giver of life, Jesus Christ.
Let’s Pray:
Father, we want to dance in the river with you today. Dancing, our Lord, our God, our Redeemer, our Father and yet our friend. We wait upon you. We look to you, oh Lord. Wisdom, yes we lack. We ask of you, our Lord.
Healing Waters-yes, we do believe. Healing your people-wholeness, that’s what we so desire. Father, you, Oh Lord, you are the one… The only one, who can complete the deep work in us. Removing pain, shame, deception, bringing truth to the light. Yes Lord, that’s what we need. Strongholds destroyed by the power of your name.
Father, how do we say thank you? We want to worship you both day and night, never forgetting our brokenness and how you turned our darkness into light. Dancing, dancing, we want to praise your name.
Father, inside we are dancing both day and night. Jesus, our Lord- we just want you to know, how much we love you. Jesus our friend and yet our Lord.
Father, we wait upon you, we feel like dancing as we wait on you. We feel like dancing as we wait on you…Amen.
