A Path to Blessing

“ Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”  (Matthew 5:9)

In Matt. 5:9, the Beatitudes, Jesus gives strong encouragement (I like to call them the “Be Attitudes”) to any that would follow Him to “be” Peacemakers.   Those who will surrender their self-will and purposes of personal gain to make certain peace abounds where they are, and beyond, shall find blessings along the way.

Many are they who believe this peacemaker is to fix what has become broken in families, communities and churches, etc.  Of course, there is the necessity of fixing or restoring peace in some cases.   However, Jesus never called us to merely do the obvious or even to simply do our duty, no, never that.  Christians are not meant to simply “get by” in this world as best we can.  Jesus always expects His own to do the more as He implies with the question in verse 47: “What do ye more than others?”

No, beloved, Jesus did not say, “Blessed are the fixers,” He said, “Blessed are the peacemakers!”   Blessed are the ones who live in a constant state of love-being and love-doing to do their part to avoid relationships in all places to become broken.

“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”   (Romans 12:18 KJV)

“If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”  (Amp. Bible)

In Jesus, I have had to mend broken churches, four to be exact.   It was never enough to just fix them, but to do all within my calling to never allow them to become broken again on my watch.  Being a peacemaker is not an easy calling, it is a blessed calling.   Be a Peacemaker.   Be Blessed!   Pray On!
