I love youth! I just adore babies, we just had our first grand baby, Lilith! Youth is our future, the future of the Church. I was so blessed to read in the August 26th, 2015 edition of the Citizen that the Windom, Minnesota City Council is moving closer to adding a youth representative to Windom city government! PRAISE GOD! Windom is my hometown, and I’m super blessed to write a devotional column for the paper, my way of trying to pay back my hometown for such a Godly upbringing! Youth should be involved in our Church Boards,  School Boards, State and Federal government. They are our future, so many complain about today’s youth, but are we, the body of Christ, must train them up in love!  As a Pastor, I love to be around our youth of today, they have made me a better man of God. They are helping train me up in the ways of God! I meet too many young people that have been discarded by society, even by their own parents. What a tragedy. I met a young person the other day who was helping out at the Food Pantry, where I volunteer when I can. I will call him Jim in this report to you.  I noticed right away he was a hard worker. He kept his head down as he would help with boxes that the people would put their food in. I told Jim, “You sure are a hard worker!” Jim put his head down in embarrassment of the complement. Over the next few hours I found that Jim walked to work at 2:30am, as he has no car, he starts work at 4:30am, he does not live with his parents. Jim is living with friends. I could tell that Jim’s self-esteem had been beaten down, but despite that he was a hard worker and came to the Church food pantry to help. I have a new friend in Jim. When you meet our youth on the streets, in stores, wherever, show them the love of Jesus Christ. Don’t let the tattoos or dress put you off. Our youth are growing up facing things we never had to. We can learn much from them.Do not judge. I have went up to young gang members, tough looking dudes,  and talked with them, showing them the love of Jesus Christ, it all starts from the heart, from yours to theirs.

Matthew 22: 37-39 teaches us…. The Greatest Commandment

37And He said to him, “‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ 38“This is the great and foremost commandment. 39“The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’…
