New Mexico Alliance for Life has issued an updated news release regarding the location of the second, planned State of New Mexico-funded abortion clinic. It is planned for Las Vegas, New Mexico. The news release follows below:

New Mexico Alliance for Life (“NMAFL”) has uncovered a major development in New Mexico’s taxpayer-funded abortion expansion—and New Mexicans deserve to know.
As construction advances on the state’s first $10 million taxpayer-funded abortion facility in Las Cruces, NMAFL has confirmed the second taxpayer-funded University of New Mexico (“UNM”) abortion center is now targeting the community of Las Vegas, New Mexico.
The information comes directly from Christopher Arndt, MD, Interim President and CEO of UNM Health Sciences Center during a 2026 University of New Mexico Board of Regents meeting earlier this year.
Statements made during the meeting, which were uncovered by NMAFL, reveal that UNM and state officials identified Las Vegas, New Mexico as the “ideal location” for a new UNM state-sponsored abortion killing center.
THIS IS WHAT THEY DIDN’T WANT NEW MEXICANS TO KNOW:
In 2025, NMAFL exposed a last-minute tactic by pro-abortion legislators to sneak in funding for a “reproductive health center in Northern New Mexico” into HB 450, the capital outlay bill.
The $10 million appropriation ultimately passed despite intense public opposition. The House passed the measure 41–25, with UNM designated as the “fiscal agent.” Now we know where the Northern New Mexico project is being targeted — Las Vegas, New Mexico.

NMAFL is asking EVERYONE to please join in prayer against the construction of the FIRST and SECOND taxpayer-funded UNM abortion killing centers on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Statewide Day of Prayer. Please plan on attending one of the locations below or call in from anywhere in the state to (551) 241-6688.
