Dr. Jim Denison writes in The Daily Article that in U.S. primary election returns last night (5/5/2026), five of seven candidates lost to challengers backed by President Donald J. Trump, with a sixth race that is too close to call. President Trump’s candidate for an open seat also won. Dr. Denison points out that “not in living memory has a single politician so unified both parties as President Trump does.”
Philosopher Antony Flew observed that an “unfalsifiable” (meaning “not capable of being proved false”) truth claim is not a truth claim at all, yet some in the media nowadays seem to have such an unfalsifiable position regarding President Trump, reporting everything he says and does as wrong or everything he says and does as right.
Chuck Akeley: As Dr. Denison points out, it’s as if politics has replaced or functions in our lives as religion or a substitute for the Christian faith!
As C. S. Lewis recognized:
The case against Christianity that is made out in the world is quite strong. Every war, every shipwreck, every cancer case, every calamity, contributes to making a prima facie case against Christianity. It is not easy to be a believer in the face of this surface evidence. It calls for a strong faith in Jesus Christ.
