KOB 4 News (Albuquerque, NM) reports that New Mexico State Police (“NMSP”) Sergeant Toby Lafave, once known as the ‘DWI King’, has been officially dismissed from his position.

In February of 2025, NMSP Chief Troy Weisler placed Sergeant Lafave on administrative leave due to his name appearing in the federal investigation of a DWI deception scheme involving law enforcement across the state.

Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (“MADD”) previously recognized Lafave as ‘officer of the year’ in 2013 and 2014.

KOB 4 News also has a summary page for the entire DWI Deception Scheme which may be read HERE.

As Pastor Dewey Moede has written about many times on FGGAM, this multi-year scandal has rocked trust in New Mexico law enforcement, particularly in the Albuquerque area, and represents the foothold that the evil one has in this state.  This is sad and shameful!
