KOB 4 News (Albuquerque, NM) reports under its investigative unit “4 Investigates” that on May 15, 2025, a small child (estimated to be four or five years old) in the custody of the State of New Mexico’s Children, Youth & Families Department (“CYFD”) was found wandering along Indian School Road, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and was rescued and returned to the nearby CYFD by a passerby who notified the police by calling ‘911’.

The CYFD office in question is where children go when they are removed from their homes or when the state is unable to find placement.  This office is staffed with CYFD workers and several security officers, yet, somehow, the little boy managed to escape and wander in the street, reportedly nearly being struck by passing vehicles.

CYFD-contracted security officers convinced the responding Albuquerque Police Department (“APD”) officer(s) that the boy was once-again safe and sound; however, it remains unclear how he could have simply walked away from the CYFD office without being noticed by CYFD employees and security guard(s).

The KOB 4 News article may be read in its entirety HERE.

My brothers and sisters, although a lot of details are unknown based on the article, it is undeniable that this situation falls right in line with the previous reporting by FGGAM’s Co-Founder and Publisher, Pastor Dewey Moede, regarding the apparent ineptness of CYFD.

Whether due to alleged funding shortages, less-than-stellar political manipulation, or a mission that is unfairly rigid because of a ‘standard of perfection’ that is impossible for any governmental agency (let alone you or me individually) to meet, the system continues to allow children to ‘fall through the cracks’.

The question becomes, is the State of New Mexico truly the ultimate responsible party for every child in the state, or does that responsibility, Biblically or otherwise, fall to the parents and family?  As obvious as the answer should be, it nonetheless fails to acknowledge that in a sinful world influenced by the evil one, there will always be failings in parenthood, which unfortunately and arguably, necessitates agencies such as CYFD.

The question then becomes, how do we respond to such human failings?

For starters, perhaps we need persons motivated by more than a paycheck to oversee abused or abandoned children, but how does a secular, state-operated agency make that happen?

Well, one way is for more Bible-believing, God-fearing men and women to step into civil government and lead the way.

I’m, of course, not suggesting that there aren’t such loving men and women already serving in New Mexico government, but New Mexico’s state agencies adhere to the approach of “separation of church and state” and never openly refer to God and the moral underpinning of The Ten Commandments – despite almost all violations of established law in the United States hinging upon those commandments.  It is discouraged or a violation of statutes for state employees to discuss their faith or to consider it in hiring practices, respectively, at the workplace – which this writer knows personally as a 23 1/2 year retired employee of the New Mexico Environment Department.

The answer will always be Jesus, despite the well-meaning efforts of non-believers.  Whether it is because a believer is more likely to walk in integrity and to take responsibility very seriously, or because the mission standard is unreachable, the wisdom of God, not the wisdom of the world, is what will heal this situation!

Let’s pray for godly wisdom to inform the workers in our state government and its resulting statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances and operational policies.  Let’s also pray that the employees of the State of New Mexico (as well as county and local jurisdictions) would FIRST seek God in all they do, and that those ‘looking in from the outside’ would form opinions and take actions in light of scripture and the wisdom of God.

As the Bible tells us:

1 Timothy 2:1-3 (ESV)
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.  This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior…”.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

1 John 5:14-15 (NKJV)
Confidence and Compassion in Prayer
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
