The Christian Post is featuring an op-ed written by Angie Howell, author of the book Jewel of Heaven, who found that at age 36, during her third marriage, and while raising seven children and working full time as a pediatric nurse, almost every part of her life was ‘messy or broken’.

A few months following Mother’s Day 2006, she was shocked to discover that baby number eight was on the way.  Just as her third marriage was ending, her eighth pregnancy was beginning.  How could she welcome another innocent victim into the chaos of her messy life?

The baby, named Jade, was born with a brain abnormality and wasn’t supposed to see her third birthday.  Despite what the world would tell her about Jade’s future, Howell was surrounded by those of strong Christian faith who prayed for Jade’s healing.  Jade was healed and recently celebrated her 18th birthday!  Praise God!

To mark the occasion, Howell published a book, Jewel of Heaven, that celebrates Jade’s miraculous healing, her beautiful life and the goodness of God in Howell’s life.  To this day, Jade’s pediatric neurologist tells Howell that Jade’s healing cannot be explained from a medical perspective.  It has been called a “bona fide miracle” by one neurosurgeon.

My brothers and sisters, this writer absolutely 100% affirms that YES, God loves all moms – and especially those who might feel in moments of distress that they are ‘misfits’!  All persons fall short of the glory of God, but with faith in Christ, we can know the overwhelming love and goodness of God, His miracles, and the most incredible miracle of all – the gift of salvation!

The Bible reminds us that we are all sinners in need of repentance; that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ, as a gift of God; and that it is the will of God for ALL to be saved:

Romans 3:23 (NKJV)
“…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…”.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV)
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God [emphasis mine], not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

1 Timothy 2:4-6 (NKJV)
God Desires All To Be Saved
“[God our Savior] desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.  For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all…”.

Praise Jesus forevermore!
