Today I officiate the memorial service for lovely family. Their daddy was a hero, served in the military and with the New York City Fire Department, before retiring to Rio Rancho, NM. Sadly, I got a call from one of my funeral home friends yesterday. As you may know God has called me to serve hurting families and officiate memorial services.
My friend said to me, “Dewey I do not know what to do anymore. So many do not go to Church anymore and do not want a Christian service. Many just want someone to say a prayer, read the eulogy and then say a closing prayer, but they do not want anything from the Bible said.” This does not surprise me. I have had to tell people I cannot officiate a service where God and His word is not proclaimed. I will never forget the man who called me a few years back and said, “We would like you to officiate the funeral of our mother, but you cannot read from the Bible”. Sharon and I see a very sad America as we travel. Many are without God. I told my friend that the owners may need to hire a ‘MC'” type to do services for those that do not want a Christian service. Some that I talk to when they call me are very adamant that they do want a Christian service, BUT THEY STILL WANT A PASTOR! It is then at that time, I minister to them in hopes they will be open to hearing about JESUS. I do my best.
I could write a book and what I have seen over the years. BUT! Sharon and I continue to to carry out The Great Commission and spread the love of JESUS!

On April 10th, agents from the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office and Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Luis Flores and seized a backpack containing 26,000 fentanyl pills. Why so much EVIL?
“So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts” Eph 4: 17, 18.
The Scriptures call the mind of the natural man “blinded” 2 Cor. 4:4, “depraved” Romans 1:28, “corrupt” 1 Tim. 6:5, and “unspiritual” Col. 2:18. The natural mind thinks from a humanistic, sin-debased viewpoint. The viewpoint of the flesh directs its thoughts. The sinful mind is under the control of Satan and can never please God because it concentrates on things of the world and not things of the Spirit. The natural mind walks the road of hopelessness and self-destruction.
