The Associated Press (“AP” or “AP News”) reports that yesterday (4/8/2025), U.S. District Judge Trevor N. McFadden ruled that the White House must restore the AP’s access to cover presidential events, affirming on First Amendment grounds that the federal government cannot punish the news organization for the content of its speech.
The AP’s removal from press pool access resulted from its decision in February (2025) to ignore President Donald J. Trump’s executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico to its new name, the Gulf of America.
Because of its dominant and wide reach, the AP has traditionally always been included in presidential press pools; however, Judge McFadden cautioned that his ruling does not necessarily herald a return to those days, stating:
“The Court does not order the government to grant the AP permanent access to the Oval Office, the East Room or any other media event. It does not bestow special treatment upon the AP. Indeed, the AP is not necessarily entitled to the ‘first in line every time’ permanent press pool access it enjoyed under the (White House Correspondents Association). But, it cannot be treated worse than its peer wire service either.”

My brothers and sisters, I realize that ‘the press reporting on the press’ is not always a popular story, but it is news in this case, given the huge numbers of news outlets in the U.S. and the globe which are under contract with the AP and publish its articles every day in newspapers and websites – with the presumption of accuracy and fairness.
Unlike in past decades, many mainstream media (“MSM”) news outlets openly favor political sides, basing nearly 100% of reporting on such views, whether it’s MSNBC’s all-in for the liberal or Democratic views of the news, or Fox News’ (and other news bloggers) heavy leaning toward conservative or Republican views of the news. What seems to be missing is news based upon a Biblical Worldview!
This is, sadly, understandable, considering it is unavoidable in the MSM because faith and trust in Jesus, and the holding of a Biblical Worldview, is not embraced by those who are not of the Christian faith or who are ‘lukewarm’ in their faith – working daily under a false premise that one cannot bring one’s faith to the workplace under the “separation of church and state” view of civil government. I am so very thankful that the actual founders of the United States did not take this perspective, from the signing of the Declaration of Independence to the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
This writer strongly recommends that we, as followers of Christ, read every news report, regardless of where the article originated, from the perspective of a Biblical Worldview, seeking God’s wisdom in its interpretation by the power of the Holy Spirit living within us!

Jesus Promises Another Helper
“If you love Me [Jesus], keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper [Comforter], that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth [emphasis mine], whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”
