On Tuesday (3/11/2025), FGGAM Co-Founder and Pastor Dewey Moede and FGGAM News Director Chuck Akeley, met to discuss the potential development of a YouTube channel that would be an extension of FGGAM’s website, to discuss local and world events each week.

As currently envisioned, the YouTube presentation would be live – not taped – and would report on inspirational and news events, offering on-the-spot commentary and perspectives from a Biblical Worldview.  Pastor Moede, Akeley and invited guests would bring fresh and Biblically-guided perspectives to the pressing issues of the day (e.g., abortion, suicide, church attendance and leadership, crime, immigration, homelessness, drugs, human trafficking, and even the successes and failings of the local church).

It is, sadly, our observation that in the overwhelming majority of churches today, there seems to be little (if any) discussion about current events and how Biblical principles should guide and impact our views and actions in light of the sin that surrounds us.

This writer can personally attest, for example, that the word ‘abortion’ is not even uttered in some churches, despite that the sole purpose of this procedure is to kill God’s unborn children!

There is a divide among Christians about involvement in civil government and politics.  Legislating morality is impossible, as it is not possible to ‘order’ someone to be moral; however, having God-fearing persons in our governments, whether elected, appointed or hired, is not a mutually-exclusive matter, as it helps to assure moral stability and ultimately, a society that is more in line with the will of God.  It is entirely possible to acknowledge that one can’t legislate morality and at the same time, seek to have more Christian workers in our civil governments to help assure a better society until the day of the Lord’s return.

For instance, it is absolutely good and ‘Christian’ to have elected officials in the legislatures who would vote and fight against the use of citizens’ taxes to pay for a $10 million abortion facility, with no consideration about Christian taxpayers’ faith and principles – as is happening right now in Las Cruces, New Mexico, at the will of New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham.  How could a Christian, let alone a pastor, argue that our taxes should be used for such purposes by citing the supposedly ‘constitutionally-mandated’ separation of church and state, and overlook the millions of murdered, unborn children?

Sunday sermons have seemingly, at least in some instances, become what we used to expect on Wednesday evening Bible studies or Sunday School classes, as opposed to hard-hitting messages and discussion about applying Biblical principles and teachings, and being attuned to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, to help guide us victoriously in our day-to-day lives!  Biblical application goes hand-in-hand with Biblical understanding.

Sunday morning sermons, at least sometimes, should guide, strengthen and edify us in Biblically-sound principles that enable us to withstand the enemy and to shine the light of Jesus consistently, everywhere we go!  Please don’t misunderstand, I’m 100% for sound, line-upon-line, expository teaching of the Bible; however, there is an undeniably critical need in this world to better understand how to live our lives in the truth and importance of a Biblical Worldview!

Bottom Line:  Do you believe that Jesus is Lord, the Son of God, the One who died as the propitiation for our sins – bringing us the right to be called the children of God and to have eternal life in the very presence of Almighty God – or not?  If the answer is ‘yes,’ then we should ask ourselves if during the week, when we are not in church, do our lives (e.g., our decisions, actions and thoughts) reflect a life focused on the Lord and His will, or do we just accept the wisdom of the world to better ‘fit in’ and avoid challenges or contentions?  There is no ‘in between’.  Cherry-picking or ignoring portions of the Bible simply means that one does not believe in the infallibility of scripture or is unwilling to seek the Holy Spirit or those more learned for help in understanding.

Please be in prayer along with us (FGGAM) as the YouTube channel endeavor, Lord willing, comes to fruition.  Pastor Moede never enters into anything ministry related without a clear ‘go ahead’ from the Lord and it all begins on our knees.

By the way, the FGGAM meeting this week was in Albuquerque at The Range (Wyoming and Montgomery Boulevards NE), where the food and the service is always top notch!  The photograph below was taken by one of the restaurant’s servers:
