American Christians Who Support Trump Should Be ‘Moved by the Plight of Persecuted Christians’ in Afghanistan, Says Advocate

We are praying for all the persecuted souls throughout the world. Is America withdrawing from a very, very evil world? Why have we become so selfish? I am very sad about this and I weep. I struggle with news like this. My goodness! We have now left the Afghans and Ukrainian people 'hung out to dry.' America leans to Putin??? UNBELIEVABLE!

Way too many Pastors are silent on this horrible suffering… Does politics rule them? I am not a politician. I do not approve of the GOP or the DEMS. I do not drink from the cup of politics. I drink from the cup of JESUS! I am a Pastor and news editor with a Biblical Worldview.

Let the hate come at me more than ever! We stand in the gap for God’s people, not politics. So many Christians hearts have become so very hard, hard as stone, blinded by politics.

ChurchLeaders Reports

Numerous Afghans provided crucial assistance to the United States during our 20-year war in Afghanistan, partnering with American troops and the U.S. government in opposing the Taliban. Some of these Afghans are also Christians.

Yet, now their lives and livelihoods are at risk because of three executive orders (EO) issued by the Trump administration. These EOs have halted key immigration pipelines, pipelines that were developed after the Biden administration’s disastrous withdrawal from AfghanistanMore Here

Over 100 Christian leaders denounce Trump cuts to foreign aid, mass deportations

Years ago Billy Graham answered a question on why America should send money to countries like Africa. This is how he answered…

We sometimes forget that Jesus Himself was very poor, and so were His disciples. On one occasion, He said, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head” (Luke 9:58).

After all, He could have chosen to come into this world as a rich man–for He was God, and the whole world belonged to Him. But He didn’t. And one reason was because He wanted to show His compassion for the whole human race, rich and poor alike. And if we are His followers, we should have that same kind of compassion. Centuries before Christ was born God commanded His people “to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land” (Deuteronomy 15:11).

I’m thankful for the work governments and others are doing to fight poverty and disease in many parts of the world; the task is too great for any one agency; but Christians should be in the forefront–and one reason is because they come with compassion, and with the good news of Christ’s power to change lives.

Pray for Christian groups that seek to bring Christ’s love and mercy to those who hurt. (My son Franklin’s organization, Samaritan’s Purse, is one of them.) And be generous in your giving. Above all, ask God to help you see the world the way He sees it, with all of its misery and despair–but also with hope in Christ. More Here
