What’s Burning Within You?
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. Last evening we sang this song at least twenty times. Over and over again we prayed and sang the words burn a fire down in my soul and thanked the Good Father for doing so. The hunger within us intensified as we sang and cried out to God for more. I’m still asking for more this morning.
Do you want more of God? Do you want him to ignite the flame in your life that is beyond what you have ever experienced? I do. I ponder what that all looks like on these cold Maine mornings. I can’t imagine anything more than I know right now, but I know there’s more. I want more, I want all that God has for me on this side of heaven. What about you?
Let’s sing and thank God this morning for fresh fire in our lives. Let’s tell him we want more once again. Amen?
Let’s Pray:
Father, Romans 12:11 and 12 tells us to never be lacking in zeal, but keep our spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Father, we are doing all we know to do on the journey we are on, but we know there’s more.
Father, we thank you for the power of the Holy Spirit. We pray today that you, oh God would ignite the flame even brighter that is burning with us. Just like the day of Pentecost in Acts 2 when a suddenly happened and Paul stood up and addresses the crowd with saying; These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Father, thank you for this outpouring, we receive it. Amen.
Have a blessed day God’s most beautiful people. Thank him for more.
