In an America where the Church is falling, many ask what it means to be an Evangelical. On our Great Commission travels, many do not know what it means. I am not surprised by this at all as many Americas just do not attend Church or care.
Evangelicals take the Bible seriously and believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The term “evangelical” comes from the Greek word euangelion, meaning “the good news” or the “gospel.” Thus, the evangelical faith focuses on the “good news” of salvation brought to sinners by Jesus Christ. What is an Evangelical?
America is in bad shape……People are hungry for the love of Jesus and to be heard. Many have left the Church according to a Gallup poll. Sadly, the poll shows only 30% of Americans rate clergy as “highly honest and ethical.” Barna Research reports that just 4% of Americans have a Biblical Worldview. We have a lot of work to do for JESUS!

Many U.S. evangelicals may view early immigration and refugee maneuvers by President Donald Trump’s administration as a mixed bag.
Evangelicals want both secure borders and laws that provide avenues for certain illegal immigrants to obtain legal status, according to a Lifeway Research study. They want to deport dangerous illegal immigrants but aren’t as concerned about those who arrived as children and have lived peacefully in the U.S. Additionally, evangelicals recognize personal and national responsibilities to care for refugees and others fleeing their nation of origin.
The Lifeway Research study finds self-identified evangelicals and evangelicals by belief, those who hold four key theological convictions, are predominantly Trump voters and politically conservative. They also see their faith as a primary influence on their views of immigration and related political issues. More Here
