I will never leave you or abandon you.
Hebrews 13:5
We all know from reading Job that sometimes innocent people suffer and struggle. And recently, just watching family and friends go through these situations, has been hard and painful to watch.
I know for a fact that God did not leave them here to suffer alone.
Just like he did for Job, God can redeem that suffering, in His perfect timing.
When we think of the suffering of an innocent person it can cause us to question God as to why He’d allow it. I know I have asked him this.
I know that ultimately God uses our circumstances to accomplish His purpose.
His plan is always perfect, His character is flawless, and those who trust Him will not be let down, forgotten or disappointed.
When times are good, It’s easy to become complacent in our relationship with Him.
But during our struggles is when we tend to cry out to God more and feel closer to him.
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
Psalm 34:18
“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope”
Romans 5:3-4
Also, in my time of walking and talking to women I’ve mentored, this question comes up often…”why would Jesus allow this if he could stop it?”
Trust me this is difficult every time it comes up and I’m crushed at such pain they carry.
God has given all of us a free will. Many choose to walk away from Gods perfect pleasing will for them and would rather choose to dive into the dark things of this world. These things lead to debauchery, causing hurt to themselves and others.
So many evil, disgusting and unimaginable things occur when someone chooses these things, instead of the things of God.
They leave themselves and others around them in a darkness they have no clue about. Satan’s out to destroy you. And he doesn’t care who you take with you. He has no manners and he couldn’t care less about your life or your children or your pets or anybody close to you.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
John 10:10
So, when God gives you a free will, and you choose to do the things you ought not to, destruction is right around the corner. And when they choose disturbing things, they cannot blame a holy and just God for the evil done by an evil person
Then there is the fact that we live in a fallen world with physical bodies. A fallen world polluted by sin, sickness, death and diseases.
We are fallen beings, with physical bodies prone to disease and illness. Some sickness is simply a result of the natural course of things in this world and some comes from poor choices or self inflicted issues and because we don’t take care of our body’s as God intended. (Wear and tear on our bodies, so-to-speak.)
Bottom line here; God has given all of us the freedom to choose to be holy or evil. This does not mean that God is evil. It means that whoever performed the abuse did an evil deed. That person is the one who causes the abuse.
God will bring justice.
Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!
Isaiah 30:18
Regarding any abuse, whether it’s against a child, an animal the elderly or anyone… God will punish them because He loves children and is holy, just and righteous.
He always responds with justice. When He causes someone to suffer, they will suffer just as they deserve, according to their sin.
Justice is a key part of God’s character. Throughout the Bible, justice is associated with righteousness and God’s law. There will be justice for disobedience.
The LORD works righteousness
and justice for all who are oppressed.
Psalm 103:6
I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and will execute justice for the needy.
Psalm 140:12
When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous
but terror to evildoers.
Proverbs 21:15
God gave us freedom to choose, that’s our own “free will” to take away our choice would be to remove the possibility of us choosing to trust God. Unfortunately, if we choose to disobey Him, that comes with stiff consequences.
And back to the opening verse’s;
“I will never leave you or abandon you.”
“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Choose wisely, follow God‘s laws, and pray hard for those that aren’t, as others will suffer because of their poor choices.
Many Blessing’s,
Connie
