BREAKING NEWS
CNN reports that the Israel Defense Forces (“IDF”) released the following statement early Tuesday morning (local time) advising that Israel had begun a “limited ground operation” in southern Lebanon against Hezbollah:
“The IDF began a few hours ago a targeted and limited ground operation in the area of southern Lebanon against terrorist targets and infrastructures of the terrorist organization Hezbollah, in a number of villages near the border, which pose an immediate and real threat to Israeli settlements on the northern border.”
“In accordance with the decision of the political echelon, a few hours ago, the IDF began limited, localized, and targeted ground raids based on precise intelligence against Hezbollah terrorist targets and infrastructure in southern Lebanon.”
“These targets are located in villages close to the border and pose an immediate threat to Israeli communities in northern Israel.”

The Associated Press (“AP News”) reports that Israeli ground forces moved into southern Lebanon early Tuesday (local time), marking a significant escalation of an offensive against Hezbollah and opening a new front in a yearlong war against its Iranian-backed adversaries.
The incursion follows weeks of heavy blows by Israel against Hezbollah — including a recent airstrike killing its longtime leader and Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah. The last time Israel and Hezbollah engaged in ground combat was a monthlong war in 2006.
There have been no reports of direct clashes between Israeli troops and Hezbollah militants so far, however, throughout Monday (9/30/2024) evening, Israeli artillery units pounded targets in southern Lebanon and the sounds of airstrikes were heard throughout Beirut. Smoke rose from the capital’s southern suburbs, where Hezbollah has a strong presence.

My brothers and sisters, what is becoming increasingly clear is that Israel is not listening to U.S. President Joe Biden’s recent demands that Israel enter into a ceasefire.
All indications are that Israel has moved with great success in its military intelligence gathering, covert operations (e.g., exploding pagers), ground preparation performed by the IDF special operations units, and coupled with the assassination of Hezbollah’s entire upper leadership (including Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah), it is on a push to end or at least severely mitigate the threat posed by the Iranian-sponsored terrorist organization Hezbollah. Depending on one’s perspective, this could be viewed as completing the job from 2006.
Let’s pray for a quick and effective effort by the IDF to clear out the enemy and provide the needed security buffer in southern Lebanon, thereby allowing for the return of Israeli citizens to its northern cities, and allowing for peace in the land, in both Israel and Lebanon.
Let’s remember what the bible says about the importance of, and the power resulting from, prayer:
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)
“…if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
Let’s also remember that the bible tells us that a nation and its people who serve God will be blessed:
Psalm 33:12 (KJV)
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom [H]e hath chosen for [H]is own inheritance.”
