We must be ready today.

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”

John 3:3

As Christians, we must prepare for what is coming.

“But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. For as the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”

Matthew 24:36-37

Today is the day of salvation.

 2 Corinthians 6:2

The apostle Paul really stressed in this verse the urgency of coming to Christ for salvation today. It’s dangerous to procrastinate about the decision where you’ll be spending eternity.

We do not know when the Lord will return for his church or when he’ll call us home personally. For we are not promised tomorrow.

We must be ready today!

Have you ever regretted putting some thing off till a later time?  Maybe you ran out of time and you regretted it. By ignoring God once you’ve heard his word is very risky and will eventually be very regrettable.

I’ve heard this before. “it’s not that I don’t believe in God.” “I’m not against God, I’m just not that into him.”  “I really just want to be left alone. I’m a good person and I don’t hurt anybody.”

The problem with these statements is that ‘good works’ won’t get you into heaven. And to be undecided means you’ve already decided against God. The good news is, you still have time to choose him!

Our ‘good deeds’ aren’t good enough to get us into Heaven because our good deeds are as filthy rags. Try as we may, our good intentions fall short. My intentions were good, but the result isn’t.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 10:13

Here’s what you must do. Admit that you are a sinner and that you need God’s help. Be willing to change your mind and turn from your sin (repent). Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead.

If you’re ready now, below is a prayer you can pray.

Lord Jesus, know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.

If you prayed this prayer, please let someone know. And welcome to the family!

Many Blessings,

Connie
