IHOPKC Releases “Report On Initial Findings” Regarding Allegations Against Founder Mike Bickle

According to CHURCH LEADERS, the International House of Prayer of Kansas City’s (“IHOPKC”) Executive Leadership Team (“ELT”) continues to update the public regarding the ongoing investigation of “sexual and spiritual abuse” allegations IHOPKC’s founder, Mike Bickle.  On November 15, 2023, IHOPKC released an update letter and its “Report On Initial Findings.”

The IHOPKC report states, in part, that on October 24, 2023, a group of men led by a local Kansas City pastor (“Complaint Group”) presented IHOPKC’s ELT with a series of allegations against IHOPKC Founder Mike Bickle made by eight women reportedly represented by the Complaint Group.

The report further states that after three weeks of examination, IHOPKC has identified five of the eight alleged victims.  Three of those five have publicly called the allegations lies, a fourth has not wanted to communicate with IHOPKC’s attorney, and the fifth’s allegations relate to incidents that preceded IHOPKC’s founding.  It also became apparent that the Complaint Group did not have permission to include at least four of the women in their list of alleged victims.

BACKGROUND

On October 30, 2023, a CHURCH LEADERS article reported that IHOPKC’s Founder Mike Bickle was accused of sexual and spiritual abuse, and was asked to step away from ministry and his social media – which he has done.  The allegations have been under investigation since.  This CHURCH LEADERS article identifying the original allegations may be read HERE.

COMMENTARY

My brothers and sisters, hopefully you have or will read IHOPKC’s above-referenced initial report.  As a reporter, and especially as one reporting on matters of the ministry and of a spiritual leader’s reputation, and because of the potential negative ramifications inherent in such matters, I must be careful.

That said, the Complaint Group’s motives and it’s apparent ability to put forward evidence of its allegations, as well as its own credibility, appears to be falling apart.  I have been wondering about this situation for the last month, hesitating to say anything, as it seemed to not settle in my spirit.

Let’s pray for THE TRUTH to be quickly determined and released.  Ministers of God are human beings with imperfections like the rest of us; however, it is also inescapable that the evil one seeks to destroy godly men, woman and their good works for Jesus – and all the more so for a highly influential Christian leader such as Mike Bickle.

Proverbs 12:22 (NKJV)
“Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, [b]ut those who deal truthfully are His delight.”

Proverbs 19:5 (NKJV)
“A false witness will not go unpunished, [a]nd he who speaks lies will not escape.”

Proverbs 21:15 (ESV)
“When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.”

3 John 3-4 (NKJV)
“For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth.  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
