Thanks for the Task at Hand!

davidniblack.com

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Colossians 3:17 NKJV

Whatever we do, no matter what we set our thoughts to, our hearts to, our hands to, the Lord must be center!

Even if it seems like what is in front of you may never be finished or accomplished, if it is a task that He has assigned to you, it will be done in accordance to His will.

Noah didn’t understand why he was commanded to build the Ark.

Noah had to make a choice.

He brings his sons to help. They build this amazing Ark that would be a symbol of God’s Holy Mercy for His Holy people!

And it took Him 120 years to complete.

Even through the mocking from others. Even with not fully understanding what the Lord has in front of you. Even if it’s not something you ever desired or saw yourself doing, there’s one way to ensure you accomplish your task.

“do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

Sometimes it is not about our ability but our obedience.

Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ says the Lord; ‘and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land,’ says the Lord, ‘and work; for I am with you,’ says the Lord of hosts.

Haggai 2:4 NKJV

God give 3 statements

Be strong

Work

I am with you

Be strong- draw your strength from the Lord.

We don’t have enough physical strength. We don’t have enough spiritual strength to accomplish anything in this life without His help.

The Lord has chosen us to go and do His work. We have the privilege to be His Ambassador, His mouthpiece, hands and feet.

When He gives us a task to do we have to make that choice for ourselves if we will step-up to the plate and do what He says.

Obedience always has work attached to it.

Obedience is an action not a thought!

Haggai and the men had the task of rebuilding the Temple.

Not an easy task, not easy work.

But they became discouraged either by the task that was before them or by not being able to make a Temple as awesome as the one Soloman built.

We can either take the work the Lord has put in front of us and complain that it’s too hard or we can’t get it done!

Or we can be honored that He has chosen us to be His hands and feet to accomplish His work.

Work with faith and courage!

Work knowing that Jesus Christ walks with us. Work until the Work is complete. Work in our circumstances. Work through our flesh. Work in humility to allow the Lord to do His work in you and through you.

It wasn’t important that the new temple was as spectacular as the 1st. The important thing was that this was God’s work and they could depend on Him to

help them finish it.

The same God that did great and amazing things in the past was with them. And He had to remind them so they could be encouraged.

He keeps all of His promises, but we have to know them, believe them and accept them. When He speaks it no man can ever change what He says.

If the Lord has His hand upon anything in your life no one or nothing can stop what He started!

So why not trust Him?

Where else do we have to go? What else do we have to do?

His Spirit remains with us. With those that will go and do His will. Those that will be obedient to what He says. And when His Spirit is dwelling and working inside you there is no room for fear, doubt, worry or anxiety.

He will push it all out.

Whatever He doesn’t push out and stays is what we so desperately hang on to!

He is promising His presence!

Thank Him for His presence!

When we put all of our trust in the Holy Spirit to give us the ability to do God’s will then we can say;

“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts”

Can you still be obedient to God even when you are discouraged?

Can we see our weakness and the need for His strength?

Push through today!

You might not feel like you can, that’s a good thing!

Ask The Lord to give you wisdom for the tasks at hand to make the right choices

Ask Him for discernment to show you things clearly.

Then be obedient to the work He has assigned to you today!

Now you can trust that He is with you and will supply our every need!

We must not forget that it’s not about the work we can accomplish but the work we can accomplish for the Glory of the King of kings and the Lord of lords!

Be strong

Work

I am with you

Live,Trust and Repeat those three!

Work in humility today to allow the Lord to do His work in you and through you!

Don’t forget that in every word or deed He has for us today, give Him thanks!
