Christianity Does Not Stop With Salvation – It’s Only The Beginning!

New Mexico Congressman William (“Bill”) Redmond (’97-’98) recently contacted FGGAM and informed Pastor Dewey Moede about a wonderful article prepared by the Colson Center’s President and Breakpoint Host, John Stonestreet.

Chuck Colson believed that his most important legacy would be people, which is why he started the Centurions Program.  The program continues today, but under a different name – the Colson Fellows Program.

Colson articulated his vision for the Centurions Program:

“I have a burning passion—it’s the first item on my prayer list every day—and that’s to see a movement of Christians raised up from the churches to defend truth in the marketplace of ideas and to live out the Gospel.  Nothing less than this kind of an awakening can possibly save our quickly deteriorating culture.”

Stonestreet’s June 22, 2023 Breakpoint article, along with a link sharing the audio of Colson’s interview, may be read HERE.

Chuck Colson discusses his August 2010 visit to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for a rally on behalf of the Manhattan Declaration.  The rally was organized by the Catholic Archbishop of New Mexico, Michael Sheehan, and US Congressman Bill Redmond – himself a Centurion Program graduate.  Colson describes those present as being “on fire” and gives credit to the powerful activist network across the State of New Mexico!

My brothers and sisters, not to take anything away from those currently working and praying diligently for God’s will to be done in New Mexico, but the church desperately needs to become more unified!  Colson’s observations from 2010 prove that with the fire of God in our bellies and the right persons at the helm, New Mexico’s believers can make a huge difference.

Colson, like the ministry of FGGAM is today, was a huge proponent of seeking God’s wisdom and living our lives from the perspective of a biblical world view!  This is the will of God.

Psalm 133:1 (NKJV)
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is [f]or brethren to dwell together in unity!”

Ephesians 4:1-6 (NKJV)
“I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
