During the session we saw many bills pass the legislature that are detrimental to New Mexico. These bills, which will now become law, will create unrestricted access to abortion and transgender interventions to all people, including our minors. Parents’ rights have been greatly violated along with our freedom of speech. Even the integrity of our elections has been severely damaged.
But the fight isn’t over…
Did you know that the New Mexico Constitution gives the people the right to say NO! According to our state constitution,
“The people reserve the power to disapprove, suspend and annul any law enacted by the legislature.”
That’s right! We can get these new laws put on the ballot in the next general election for ALL New Mexicans to vote on! In order to do this, we must collect roughly 200,000 signatures per bill. If we are able to collect and submit these signatures, we will stop the laws from being enacted and they will be put on the ballot in November of 2024 for voting.
NMFAM, along with a coalition of organizations and individuals across our state are working together in what we call the Referendum Project. We’ve collected thousands of volunteers across the state, and we are continually creating opportunities for you to sign these petitions.
The Referendum Project is hosting a Family Fun Festival this Saturday from 10am-3pm where families can come out, sign petitions, and enjoy a fun filled family friendly day with lots of games, prizes, and more! Come join in the fun and experience the hope that our community has to offer! So many wonderful ministries have come together to share with the community how they can access hope in New Mexico. It’s an event you won’t want to miss!

The destruction doesn’t end when an abortion has occurred. The trauma experienced both during and after an abortion is rarely addressed and many are living stoically, silently in pain. These suffering people need to be freed from the shame that holds them back from receiving the fullness of Christ’s forgiveness. What better place to get healing and restoration than from the Church, from those who know the restorative power of God’s love and forgiveness.
Our goal is simple. We want those who’ve been hurt by abortion to flourish in Christ. For that to happen, the body of believers need to work together to cultivate an environment that’s conducive to healing. The Building Bridges 2023 Conference will help to accomplish that goal.

Where 2024 GOP Candidates Stand on Abortion: No Time to Run and Hide as Election Looms Large
“So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts” Eph 4: 17, 18.
The Scriptures call the mind of the natural man “blinded” 2 Cor. 4:4, “depraved” Romans 1:28, “corrupt” 1 Tim. 6:5, and “unspiritual” Col. 2:18. The natural mind thinks from a humanistic, sin-debased viewpoint. The viewpoint of the flesh directs its thoughts. The sinful mind is under the control of Satan and can never please God because it concentrates on things of the world and not things of the Spirit. The natural mind walks the road of hopelessness and self-destruction.
