Ryan Foley with The Christian Post reports that the State of California has agreed to pay $1.4 million in attorneys’ fees to four churches following two separate rulings determining that the First Amendment to the United States (“US”) Constitution protects churches from having to fund abortion coverage in employee healthcare plans.

The nonprofit legal organization Alliance Defending Freedom, which has represented several churches in litigation against the state of California over its abortion coverage mandate, announced Friday that the state agreed to pay the money as part of the settlements in two separate federal lawsuits.

My brothers and sisters, how important it is that California’s court system, at least in this instance, has recognized that the US Constitution does not extinguish or trample upon the faith of millions of Christians who correctly believe that all children, born or unborn, are human beings made in the image of God, and that passing laws REQUIRING the church to include abortion as part of employee healthcare programs is just wrong!

Let’s continue to pray that government officials and court systems across the US will begin to consistently stand for the truth of the scriptures, and the rights established under the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights – including the right to life!

Genesis 1:27 (NKJV)
“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

Genesis 9:6 (NKJV)
“Whoever sheds man’s blood, [b]y man his blood shall be shed; [f]or in the image of God
He made man.”

Psalm 139:13-14 (NLT)
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.  Thank [Y]ou for making me so wonderfully complex!  Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
