NM Legislature passes budget, Senate lacks transparency, Who will be left holding the bag?

“Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”

(Romans 13:13-14)

Oh yes, The DEMS have a huge problem of transparency, its very tragic. Backroom deals galore. The GOP had to fight to help save our medical clinics and doctors. The Dems needed to be pushed! GOP State Rep. Jim Townsend put it this way, “Doctors and Nurses all across New Mexico have been leaving our State because of the Democrat led HB 75 which drastically increased insurance costs and patients costs. We listened to the doctors and pled their case before the Legislature.” (More on this below)

Jim Townsend is one of the most wisest people we have in the New Mexico. This is what Jim told KOB TV News about the states budget. “Where are we going to get $10 billion a year?” State Rep. James Townsend, (R), Otero County, said. “I’m just saying we need to be grown-ups and figure out where our revenue streams are going to come from.”

Yes! The economy is so very unstable, now we have banking crisis, and the governor and her gang are blowing away our money, very poor planning. Cracks are opening in the global financial system, Swiss bank troubles prompt question: More ahead? I want to know why property taxes were not lowered and more cash was not handed back to taxpayers?

From my sources, roughly 37% of New Mexicans pay taxes, 50% of folks here are on Medicaid or Medicare and no taxes are paid on the first $27K. Few are carrying the load for the state. Property taxes need to be lowered. The few are also getting poorer. Who will be left holding the bag?

The governor does have her $10 million now to build her baby killing facility in Las Cruces. This is so very satanic. God is not pleased at all with New Mexico. Much trouble ahead folks. How do folks like this get elected? It is a very sorrowful comment on the citizens of this state, so ungodly. We all will have to answer to God for allowing this to happen. I use ‘Got Questions’ a lot in my studies: The judgment seat of Christ involves a time in the future when believers will give an account of themselves to Christ. This is the plain teaching of Scripture: “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10). The warning is to Christians, not unbelievers. As Jesus taught in His parable, the king is going to return, at which time he will require an account from his servants (Luke 19:11–26). More Here

Bipartisan Legislation to Address Medical Malpractice Passes Senate

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Senate passed Senate Bill 523, medical malpractice legislation to revise New Mexico’s medical malpractice law. The bill received broad bipartisan support, passing on a vote of 40-2.

Senate Bill 523 represents a hard-fought compromise to fix New Mexico’s medical malpractice insurance problem, and is the culmination of weeks-long negotiations between key stakeholders, brokered by Senate Majority Leader Peter Wirth (D-Santa Fe), Senate Minority Leader Greg Baca (R-Belen), and Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham.

The measure amends the Medical Malpractice Act, capping claims for independent healthcare facilities, such as urgent care, ambulatory surgical centers, and free-standing emergency rooms that are not hospital controlled. Additionally, the damages recoverable from an injury or death to patient at an independent outpatient facility as a result of malpractice shall not exceed $1 million, except for punitive damages and future medical costs. Beginning in calendar year 2025, it adjusts annually by the prior three-year average consumer price index.

In addition, language has been added to the act to increase transparency in the patient compensation fund related to outpatient facilities requiring that there be an annual report related to claims filed, settlements and claims paid out of the fund.

“Problems get solved when parties involved come together, in this case our doctors and trial lawyers who agreed on a long-term solution that allows independent clinics to obtain malpractice insurance,” said Senator Wirth. “This compromise provides stability for current practices and more certainty for new outpatient facilities looking to open in New Mexico. And, patients who have been harmed are protected because outpatient clinics remain in the state’s patient compensation fund. I want to thank Senator Baca and the Governor for the work we did together to help the parties reach this compromise.”

“I am incredibly proud of the work of the Senate, and I want to thank Senator Wirth and Governor Lujan Grisham for working with me to get this done,” said Senator Baca. “This legislation will save lives and improve the well-being of our state by ensuring that New Mexicans have access to affordable, accessible healthcare. To our doctors and patients, thank you for speaking up and getting involved.”

The bill now goes to the House of Representatives for consideration. House sponsors of the measure are Speaker Javier Martínez (D) and Minority Leader T. Ryan Lane (R).
