You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.

Psalm 119:114

If our hope is in the right place (not in our selfishness, our jobs, our bank accounts, our circumstances, but in Christ alone), we will never be disappointed.

At times, there are certain situations in our lives that are too difficult for us to handle and it may seem that the Lord has deserted and forgotten us.  But it is absolutely imperative that whatever our circumstances are, we must continue to trust God and put our hope in Him alone!

There is nothing better we can do than run straight to Him in our despair.

Nothing can be gained by losing faith in God. Anything else we can do other than trust Him, will only lead us deeper into disaster and depression and possibly anger.

Man can live about forty days without food, about three days without water, about eight minutes without air…but only for one second without hope.

-Hal Lindsey

Many times the devil will tempt us to give up hope in God, but that is the most foolish thing we can do.

“Put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption.”

Psalm 130:7

“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”

Romans 12:12

“Lord, you hear the desire of the afflicted; you will strengthen their heart; you will incline your ear.”

Psalm 10:17

“God uses broken things, It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume.”

-V. Havner

Sometimes it is only when we are crushed and down that we see the face of God, and we wholeheartedly learn to trust in him.

Lord, I maintain my hope in You and I hold onto the assurance that you are close to the broken-hearted. 💔

Many Blessings,

Connie

  1. Thank you, Connie, so very much for this article. The Psalm 10:17 scripture really speaks loudly! Your words remind me of John 6:68 (NKJV), “But Simon Peter answered Him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'”
