Here in Albuquerque we are what? A thousand short? The Mayor promised a fully staffed police force when he was first elected! He is into his second term and has fallen way short on his promise. There is also a huge shortage of Correctional officers in New Mexico. Who would want to be one? They face the works of Satan everyday. We are so blessed that anyone wants to serve! I was walking Daisy last week when we came upon an Albuquerque Police officer and I asked him, how do you put up with all the whackos out there? He replied, “I’m out in three weeks, I am retiring.” I asked him what is the biggest problem Police officers in Albuquerque and around the state face? He said, “The judges, we lock them up, they let them out.” Yep, that is New Mexico. Catch and release. New Mexico just keeps doing the same stupid things as crime rages out of control.

New Mexico also suffers from a huge shortage of doctors and nurses. Quality of life is slipping away here. The state has more problems ‘than Carter has liver pills.’ (I give away my age by using old sayings!)

In Baltimore, Maryland, the Police Department lost nearly 300 officers in 2022 alone. Now, at unsustainable staffing levels, the city’s police union warns their force is stretched too thin to keep the public safe. More Here
