It would be next to impossible to find anyone who has impacted the kingdom of God through worship music more than Darlene Zschech!  Her ministry of writing, leading and recording worship songs with Hillsong Church was prolific and second to none.

Although her music has evolved since the early days of Hillsong, it was her song Shout To The Lord that swept the world, impacted the worship of many churches, and remains incredibly powerful to this day.  Here is Shout To The Lord, as originally released:

Since leaving Hillsong in 2013, she’s written many songs through solo projects, including Kiss of Heaven, Change Your World, You Are Love, In Jesus’ Name, and Revealing Jesus – a live worship album recorded with the Grammy Award-winning Israel Houghton.  Yes, she is a gifted worship leader, musician and songwriter, but there’s so much more!

She battled breast cancer in 2013 and God healed her, as she declared victory in her worship and prayers.  She continues to work through the impact that cancer treatment had upon her voice.  She gave her testimony to CBN and it was documented by GodTV.com in 2021.  Here is the video:

Despite the challenges, her faith has remained strong!  Darlene and her husband, Mark, are the Senior Pastors of Hope Unlimited Church (“HopeUC”) on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia, which has expanded its ministry to India and the United States.

As one who is always ready to worship God in music(!), I’d like to share one more worship song.  This video is from the Revealing Jesus project, recorded with Israel Houghton.  Here is In Jesus’ Name:

Here are the lyrics:

God is fighting for us
God is on our side
He has overcome
Yes, He has overcome
We will not be shaken
We will not be moved
Jesus, You are here

Carrying our burdens
Covering our shame
He has overcome
Yes, He has overcome
We will not be shaken
We will not be moved
Jesus, You are here

I will live
I will not die
The resurrection power of Christ
Alive in me and I am free
In Jesus’ name

I will live
I will not die
I will declare and lift You high
Christ revealed
And I am healed
In Jesus’ name

God is fighting for us
Pushing back the darkness
Lighting up the kingdom
That cannot be shaken
In the name of Jesus
Enemy’s defeated
And we will shout it out
Shout it out

Psalm 98:4 (NKJV)
“Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; [b]reak forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises.”

Psalm 66:1-4 (NKJV)
“Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth!  Sing out the honor of His name; [m]ake His praise glorious.  Say to God, ‘How awesome are Your works!  Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.  All the earth shall worship You [a]nd sing praises to You; [t]hey shall sing praises to Your name.’”

Psalm 93:2-4 (NLT)
“Your throne, O Lord, has stood from time immemorial.  You [Y]ourself are from the everlasting past.  The floods have risen up, O Lord.  The floods have roared like thunder; the floods have lifted their pounding waves.  But mightier than the violent raging of the seas, mightier than the breakers on the shore—the Lord above is mightier than these!”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
