Even as you read this, radical pro-abortion extremists are working to overturn every state law in the country that protects mothers and babies from abortionists like convicted murderer Kermit Gosnell.
They’re also working to change every state constitution so that it includes a so-called “right to abortion.”
Priests for Life is going all out to stop them!
No pro-life organization in the world is better prepared or equipped to do this.
Thanks to you and hundreds of thousands of pro-life warriors like you, Priests for Life is the recognized face and voice of the pro-life movement. And because we are, pro-life leaders and activists look to Priests for Life for leadership, support, and direction.
All of which we’ll provide during our upcoming 90-Day Campaign for Life.
In order to do so, however, I am counting on you – along with your fellow Priests for Life family members – to give of yourself so that we can help protect babies and mothers from the tidal wave of abortion that threatens to drown them in blood.
I’m counting on you to do this because there are crucial abortion battles taking place in dozens of states all across the country and we’ve got to win them all.
So please be as generous as you possibly can.
Priests for Life’s 90-Day Campaign for Life begins on Ash Wednesday February 22 and continues to Pentecost Sunday, May 28. Throughout this ninety day period critical battles will be fought in states from coast to coast.
Knowing this Priests for Life will exhaust ourselves over the next three months to achieve THREE key objectives:
- Expose and oppose the pro-abortion extremism of Democrat lawmakers at the national, state, and local level.
- Directly assist the work of pro-life leaders, activists, and organizations in every state that is under siege from the Democrats and their allies in the abortion industry.
- Follow up on the election victories you and Priests for Life did so much to help win this past November and provide much-needed support to newly elected pro-life governors and state lawmakers so they can defeat the enemies of life and protect the citizens of their states.
To achieve those objectives here’s what I need from you today and throughout the Campaign:
- Your PRAYERS. Since our fight to end abortion is spiritual warfare I’m relying on you to use this time of Lent to fast and pray for an end to legalized abortion in America. Be sure to say this prayer every day throughout the 90-Day Campaign and for as long as it takes to end America’s abortion holocaust.
- Your active INVOLVEMENT. It’s vital that, in addition to supporting Priests for Life’s national efforts, you do what you can to make your own state and local community abortion-free.
- Your FINANCIAL SUPPORT. Due to the critical importance of Priests for Life’s work over these next three months and throughout 2023, I’m going to need you to be more generous with your donations than you usually are.
Your financial support is crucial because Priests for Life has to raise $1.8 million just to fund this 90-Day Campaign. Our budget for the entire year runs close to ten million dollars. And every penny of that will come from the sacrifices which you and other pro-life heroes make on behalf of our unborn brothers and sisters.
So please give this Campaign and all of Priests for Life’s work your wholehearted support; both spiritually with your prayers and financially with your tax-deductible gifts.
This is a critical time for our unborn brothers and sisters, as well as the entire country.
As I’ve told you in prior letters and emails, anti-life Democrats and those in the abortion industry at Planned Parenthood and elsewhere are using the end of Roe v Wade to force the citizens of all fifty states to submit to their diabolical “abortion till birth” policies.
These people are masters when it comes to lying to people. That’s because they follow the devil, whom Our Lord rightly calls “the father of lies” (John 8:44). They use half-truths and outright false statements to confuse people and make them think that women need abortion to protect themselves from predatory men.
In doing so they make “choice” and “reproductive rights” the focus of the debate.
And while everyone here at Priests for Life and in the pro-life movement recognizes the plight of women facing an unexpected pregnancy, we also recognize the truth that abortion is never a solution to anything.
The simple fact of the matter is that, in addition to taking the lives of defenseless children, abortion harms women and causes of a host of problems.
That’s the truth Priests for Life has been proclaiming for over three decades.
But we need to amplify our voice and be even louder with our preaching because the pro-aborts are going all out to keep people in the dark about the tremendous harm abortion inflicts on women, on their babies, on their lives, on their families, and on the nation as a whole.
And we need to be doing this NOW!
That’s because, on the legislative front, no fewer than 26 state legislatures – that’s over half the country! – will pass laws that will either protect babies and mothers in their states from abortion … or leave them defenseless from abortionists. We’ve got to do everything in our power to win protections for them.
To do so Priests for Life must be active in each and every one of these 26 states. We need to use the strong working relationships we’ve built up over the years with state and local pro-life groups to organize them into a fighting force that can go toe-to-toe with the anti-life extremists in the Democrat Party and generate the overwhelming public support that will convince state legislators to VOTE FOR LIFE in 2023.
In addition to these legislative battles, anti-life fanatics are out to win ballot initiatives that would enshrine abortion rights in the constitutions of ten states: Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma and South Dakota. These states all currently ban or restrict abortion. So Priests for Life needs to help conduct massive state-wide education campaigns that will convince voters to reject abortion and protect life.
To the people of these states we will proclaim this simple message:
You don’t kill babies!
As human beings we are called to protect the most vulnerable among us. And in America today the most vulnerable members of our human family are our unborn brothers and sisters.
This messaging is vital because, as I mentioned a moment ago, the anti-life forces will do everything they can to keep people from thinking about the child in the womb.
Priests for Life, on the other hand, will do everything we can to get people to keep BOTH the baby and the mother in mind when they vote on these ballot initiatives. We learned a lot of valuable lessons this past year in states like Kansas and Michigan. The most important lesson we learned is this:
If we allow the death merchants to use lies and half-truths to frame the debate, we lose.
To defeat them we’ll have to proclaim the truth about abortion over and over and over and over again. Your donation will allow Priests for Life to do that in several ways:
- In churches … both from the pulpit and in parish bulletins as we equip the clergy with the facts and encourage them to be bold in their preaching against abortion.
- On TV … through programs we produce here in our state-of-the-art studio for both our own online channel – EndAbortion.TV – and for our “Defending Life” series on EWTN. These programs are beamed into 300 MILLION homes here in the U.S. and around the world.
- On social media … through podcasts, videos, and other programming. Priests for Life has a vocal presence on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, GETTR, and Truth Social and reaches close to HALF A MILLION people EVERY DAY.
- Over the radio … through our weekly one-hour pro-life “Gospel of Life” show on Radio Maria and my daily one-minute pro-life radio spots that are broadcast on just about all the stations of the extensive Bott Broadcasting radio network. At any one moment my spots have the potential to reach over 30 MILLION listeners!
- On school campuses and in the public square … through the powerful witness which our Pastoral Associate Bryan Kemper coordinates as Priests for Life’s Director of Youth Outreach and Coordinator of Street Activism
- In people’s home … through door-to-door canvassing, action-oriented letters mailed to people directly in their homes, and emails like this one.
As you can see, our 90-Day Campaign for Life is a massive effort that will require the dedication of the entire Priests for Life family. It’s also an extremely expensive undertaking with a budget of $1.8 million.
Over the next few weeks I’ll provide you with important updates on the battles going on in various states.
