For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made us understand that this light is the brightness of the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. 2Corinthians 4:6

From the beginning, the Father has wanted a relationship with us. He sent His own Son as a baby as proof.

There was a young man, Joseph, who was betrothed to his Mary, a virgin. One day, she came to him and told him she had been visited by the angel Gabriel and he told her she would become pregnant by the Spirit of God and that she would bear His Son and name Him Jesus. Mary told Joseph that she was troubled, but the angel told her not to be afraid, and that she had found favor with God.

Joseph, having been told this by his Mary, began to think of a way to divorce her secretly so as to not bring her shame. The Lord sent an angel to him in a dream and confirmed what Mary had told him. Joseph agreed with the Lord and stayed with his Mary.

These two young people were so very brave. Nothing is impossible with the Lord and they believed Him, as wild as it must have seemed to their natural minds, they still believed.

The Father prepared others as confirmation for this young couple. Mary’s cousin Elizabeth became pregnant in her later years. She who was barren was blessed by God. Zacharias was performing his priestly duties when the angel of the Lord came to him and told him that his petition for a child would be answered by God. He told Zacharias that he would name him John, and that John would be a forerunner before Jesus. Zacharias doubted so was struck dumb until John was born.

When Mary went to see Elizabeth, both babies leapt in their wombs! Elizabeth then said to Mary,

“Blessed among women are you, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! Blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what had been spoken to her by the Lord.”

Then came the decree to register for the census so Joseph and Mary went to Bethlehem because that’s where he and his family were from. While they were there, Mary gave birth to the King of Kings in a stable and laid Him in a manger.

There were shepherds tending the flocks, when of a sudden, an angel of the Lord came and stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them! They were scared. Look what the angel said to them:

“Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you; you will find a baby wrapped in cloths, and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and  saying “Glory to God in the highest. And peace on earth among men with whom He is pleased.”

The shepherds went to see the Baby Jesus and went back to their flocks glorifying and praising God. The Father revealed this beautiful miracle to shepherds!

He sent His Son for ALL people, the lowly, the broken, the hopeless, the waiting, the confused, for all are not complete without Him. Not one, for He alone can complete us.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 says that He has put eternity in our hearts. That’s why we keep searching. Our hearts are searching for Jesus, our Messiah. We can only become complete when we invite him into our heart and life. Colossians 2:10 tells us that we are complete IN Him. John 17:3 says that eternal life is to KNOW Him. 1 Peter 1:23 states: for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is through the living and abiding word of God.

Mary was the first to be the Christ carrier. Jesus would go through much in His life and die a terrible death, yet rise three days later and ascend to the Father. He would send His Spirit to dwell in those who ask and believe in Him. He would complete us by His Spirit, and we are now Christ carriers.

But we have this Treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the Life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 2 Corinthians 4:7-10

That word power is dunamis, which is the miraculous power and ability which is from God! He’s the One that helps us.

As wild as it must seem to our natural minds, that the King of Kings wants to dwell in us, will you believe? It’s your choice! It’s as wonderfully simple as saying, “Lord Jesus, I need you and I want to know you. Please come into my heart and complete me.” Amen!

But the LORD still waits for you to come to Him so He can show you His love and compassion. For the LORD is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for Him to help them. He will be gracious if you ask for help. He will respond instantly to the sound of your cries. He will be with you to teach you. You will hear a voice say, “This is the way.”

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15

Abba, may those who are seeking find You. May they be filled to the fullness of You and may they know You as Peace, as Joy, as Strength, as Healing and as their All in All, for You are the Answer we are all seeking. May we know You more each day and may we express You to a hurting world.  Amen and so be it.
